How often is it normal for a baby to poop?

The baby's physical condition is something that every mother is very concerned about. Once the baby shows any abnormality, mothers will be very uneasy. The baby's poop is also an important indicator of the baby's physical condition, but many new mothers don't know much about the baby's information. For example, how often is it normal for a baby to have a bowel movement? For many new parents, this is a question worth observing.

There is no uniform pattern in the nature and frequency of newborn baby's stool. The stool of breastfed babies is golden yellow, occasionally slightly green and relatively thin; or it is ointment-like, uniform, sour and without foam. Normally, the neonatal period has more bowel movements, usually 2-5 times a day, but some babies have 7-8 bowel movements a day.

As the child grows older, the frequency of bowel movements will gradually decrease, and after 2-3 months the frequency of bowel movements will be reduced to 1-2 times a day. Therefore, if a breastfed baby has loose stools or has more frequent stools, parents do not need to worry as long as the baby is energetic, feeding well, and growing in height and weight normally.

The baby's poop is generally regular. Maybe in the first few days you haven't figured out the baby's living habits and some of his/her behaviors in life, but slowly you will find that this is information that is very easy to capture. Your baby's poop can tell you a lot of information. When babies are still very young, their physical health status will also be reflected in their poop. So for some new parents, this still requires more attention, and slowly you will create a healthy living environment for your baby.
