What can children take to grow taller?

Many people try every possible means to make their children grow taller, and they use all means possible, without ever considering that children have normal growth patterns. 70% of a child's height is inherited from the family. It's not that the child doesn't want to grow taller. No one can change the genetic problem. Of course, we can help children grow taller by supplementing them with some nutrients they need. So, what can children supplement to grow taller?

Adequate and balanced nutrition is definitely the key to helping children grow taller. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), if you want your children to grow tall and strong, essential nutrients include protein, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, and the minerals magnesium and zinc.

Protein is the basic substance for the formation and repair of muscles, bones and tissues in various parts of the human body. Lack of protein can lead to developmental delay and atrophy of bones and muscles. Animal foods such as meat, seafood and milk are complete protein sources, while plant sources can be obtained from beans, grains and nuts.

Calcium is the raw material for bone building and can promote growth and increase bone density. Therefore, drinking two glasses of milk every day is a good way for children to build up bone strength. Vitamin D is another nutrient that helps strengthen bones. In addition to being obtained from milk and fish such as salmon and tuna, the human body can also produce vitamin D by exposing itself to the sun for 10 to 15 minutes a day.

The mineral zinc is an essential nutrient, especially for infant development. Research in the Netherlands found that insufficient zinc intake during infant development can lead to developmental abnormalities. In addition, according to many foreign studies, children's adequate zinc intake can reduce the occurrence of diarrhea. Foods rich in zinc include meat, liver, seafood (especially oysters), eggs and wheat germ.

Iron is also important for growth and development, added Weng Huiling, a dietitian at National Taiwan University Hospital. However, according to the National Nutrition Survey conducted by the Department of Health, iron deficiency is common among Chinese women aged 4 and above, while the iron deficiency rate among men is higher in adolescence and those aged 65 and above. Therefore, growing children should eat lean meat, animal liver, egg yolks or dark green vegetables to get enough iron.

After reading the above introduction, we know what substances we should supplement if we want our children to grow taller. In fact, these are small things that we need to pay attention to in life. Don't feed your children junk or fried food. They will naturally grow taller when they reach the age to grow. Parents should not focus all their attention on their children's height, but should pay more attention to their children's health.
