The child keeps sniffing his nose

If parents find that their children are always sniffing their noses, they should pay attention. There are many reasons for children to sniff their noses, including psychological reasons and diseases. For example, sometimes sniffing the nose is a bad personal habit for children. Parents should correct it in time. In addition, they should be alert to whether their children have a cold or rhinitis. Of course, they should be more alert to whether their children have tics.

The child keeps sniffing his nose

1. Suffering from rhinitis or cold. Rhinitis and colds can make children feel uncomfortable in their noses. Adults may rub their noses, but children are used to sucking their noses, so they develop the habit of sucking their noses and use suction to relieve the discomfort in their noses.

2. Tourette syndrome. Tourette syndrome is a disease that is common in school-age children. In addition to involuntary tics, it is also accompanied by some language or behavioral disorders. If you find that your child has some abnormalities in language and behavior in addition to sniffing his nose for no apparent reason, it is recommended that you take your child to the hospital for examination and cooperate with treatment under the advice of a pediatrician.

How to take care of your child's nasal cavity

1. The indoor air should be clean. Families with newborns should keep the indoor air clean and fresh. The temperature should be appropriate and there should be no large temperature difference. This is because when the baby's nasal cavity is exposed to cold or hot stimulation or has a slight infection, the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa will contract or expand, causing edema or increased secretions, which may cause the baby to have difficulty breathing.

2. Clean in time. When the baby's nasal mucosa becomes edematous, applying a hot towel to the base of the baby's nose can relieve the symptoms. The secretions in the nose must be cleaned up in time to avoid forming nasal crusts and blocking the nasal passages. The method recommended by doctors is to soak gauze, twist it into a cloth twist, gently insert it into the baby's nasal cavity, rotate the cloth twist in the direction of the twist, and pull it outwards while rotating to bring the secretions out of the nasal cavity. Repeat this several times to clean the secretions without hurting the baby's nasal cavity.

3. Soak the hardened nasal crust. What should I do if my baby's nasal crust becomes hard? Don't worry. If the hard nasal crust sticks to the nasal cavity, do not pull it out hard to avoid damaging the nasal passage. You can first soak the nasal crust with a warm cloth to soften it, and then gently remove it with your hands.

4. Don’t panic about edema. For babies with nasal mucosal edema, hot compresses and timely cleaning of secretions cannot completely improve the symptoms of shortness of breath. At this time, parents do not need to rush to take medicine or see a doctor. The elimination of edema is a natural process, and the symptoms will be significantly improved after a period of time.

When a baby is just born, he or she needs to pay more attention to the bacterial environment outside. You can grow some green plants that are beneficial to the baby at home to help purify the air at home and increase the humidity of the air at home, which is beneficial to the child's health. The baby's nasal cavity is very fragile, so mothers must pay attention to the nasal condition of their newborn babies.
