What to eat in children's diet to protect their eyes

Eyes are the windows to the soul. Both children and adults should protect our windows well. During childhood, vision has not yet been fully formed, so more attention should be paid to protection, especially paying attention to some daily living habits. Bad living habits have a particularly obvious impact on children's vision, so you can protect your eyes through diet during childhood.

Foods rich in calcium If children lack calcium, the elasticity of the sclera, the "shell" that maintains the shape of the eyeball, will decrease, and the eyeball will easily stretch, which will cause myopia over time. To prevent myopia, you should eat more calcium-rich foods. Many eye diseases, including myopia, are hidden dangers planted during the fetal period, so pregnant women should also pay attention to calcium supplementation. Foods rich in calcium include kelp, shrimp, milk, cheese, peanuts, egg yolks, soy products, spinach, oysters, etc.

Children should eat foods rich in riboflavin, as riboflavin can protect the normal metabolism of the cornea and retina. Foods rich in riboflavin include cereal, lean meat, yeast, eggs, milk, lentils, cheese, etc.

Foods rich in vitamin A Vitamin A can prevent the cornea from drying out and softening, and can enhance the eyes' vision in the dark. If a pregnant woman lacks vitamin A, it may cause poor eye development in the fetus. Foods rich in vitamin A include chicken liver, duck liver, goose liver, egg yolk, milk, goat milk, etc.

Foods containing vitamin C can eliminate or relieve eyestrain. Foods rich in vitamin C include tomatoes, meat, red dates, potatoes, kiwis, citrus fruits, etc.

Foods rich in chromium: When the chromium content in children's bodies decreases, the effect of insulin decreases, and the blood osmotic pressure decreases, thereby changing the osmotic pressure of the lens and aqueous humor, making the lens convex, and increasing the refractive power, causing myopia. Some chromium-rich foods that you eat regularly include brown rice, brown sugar, corn, fish, shrimp, carrots, etc., which can better protect your eyes.

While protecting children's eyes through diet, we must also pay attention to their eye habits. They should keep a certain distance when reading or watching TV and not overuse their eyes for long periods of time. They should pay attention to resting their eyes and exercise appropriately, especially looking into the distance after using their eyes.
