Can my baby's sinusitis be cured?

The nose is one of the more important organs among our five senses. When there is a problem with the nose, it will have a certain impact on our lives and affect our sense of smell. Therefore, we must pay attention to protecting our noses in normal times, especially babies. Babies have relatively low immunity, and some babies will suffer from sinusitis, which makes parents very worried. So can baby sinusitis be cured?

1. Systemic treatment: Use sufficient antibiotics to control infection. Since most infections are caused by cocci, penicillins and cephalosporins are the drugs of choice. Drug treatment emphasizes the selection of sensitive antibiotics, which should be used in sufficient doses and for a sufficient course of treatment. If the headache or local pain is severe, sedatives or analgesics may be used appropriately. General treatment is the same as for acute rhinitis. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment focuses on dispersing wind and heat, and aromatically opening the orifices, supplemented by detoxification and removing blood stasis.

2. Improve sinus drainage: Nasal drops containing 1% ephedrine are commonly used to shrink the nasal cavity and improve drainage. Acute sinusitis can also relieve headaches by changing body position to improve sinus ventilation and drainage.

3. Maxillary sinus puncture and irrigation: Acute maxillary sinusitis should be performed after systemic symptoms have subsided and local acute inflammation has been basically controlled. After flushing, antibacterial solution can be injected 1 to 2 times a week.

4. Sinus replacement therapy: used in multiple groups of children with sinusitis.

5. Treatment of dental disease: If it is odontogenic maxillary sinusitis, the dental disease should be treated at the same time.

6. Mucus promoters: Mucus promoters can be used to improve the characteristics of secretions and facilitate their discharge.

7. Hormone therapy: Local nasal hormones or systemic hormones can be used to improve local inflammatory conditions and enhance drainage.

8. Surgery: When acute sinusitis is not satisfactorily controlled by medication or complications occur, endoscopic sinus surgery can be used to directly reach the lesion through endoscope guidance, open the sinus opening, remove the lesion, improve local drainage, and thus restore the normal physiological function of the sinuses.

After reading the above introduction, I believe everyone should have a certain understanding of the question of whether baby sinusitis can be cured. Can baby sinusitis be cured? The answer is yes. You don’t have to choose the right method. You have to take the medicine on time and actively cooperate with the treatment so that you can recover from the disease as soon as possible.
