What to do if baby has eczema on head

The most common things that babies get when they are just born are eczema and acne. Acne is relatively safe for newborns, but eczema on the baby's head is very troublesome. In fact, it is very easy to treat eczema, but babies have almost no autonomous consciousness and cannot control their physical discomfort. Therefore, when treating babies with eczema, you must be careful not to let them scratch the eczema, as the chance of leaving acne marks is very high.

Treatment

1. General prevention and control principles

Look for possible triggers, such as work environment, living habits, diet, hobbies, thoughts and emotions, as well as the presence or absence of chronic lesions and internal organ diseases.

2. Internal therapy

Traditional Chinese Medicine: Combined use of Chinese medicine and acupuncture to eliminate dampness and detoxify, regulate the whole body, and enhance resistance.

Western medicine: Antihistamines can relieve itching, and hormone treatment can be considered for generalized eczema, but it should not be used for a long time.

3. Topical therapy

Choose appropriate dosage form and medicine according to the condition of skin lesions. For acute eczema, local washing and wet compresses with normal saline, 3% boric acid or 1:2000-1:10000 potassium permanganate solution, and calamine lotion for astringency and protection. Subacute and chronic eczema should be treated with appropriate glucocorticoid creams, tar preparations or immunomodulators, such as tacrolimus ointment and pimecrolimus ointment. Add antibiotic preparations for secondary infection.

How to prevent

1. Avoid possible triggering factors.

2. Avoid all kinds of external stimulation, such as hot water washing, excessive scratching, washing and contact with potentially sensitive substances such as fur preparations. Avoid contact with products containing chemical ingredients, such as soap, laundry detergent, and dishwashing liquid.

3. Avoid foods that may cause allergies and irritation, such as chili peppers, strong tea, coffee, and alcohol.

4. You can practice exercises that have the effect of strengthening the spleen and eliminating dampness at ordinary times: to regulate the spleen and stomach, you must lift one hand, do bear exercises, and do the tiger-gazing pose in the Great Heat posture.

What to do if your baby has eczema on his face

1. Dietary management is best to find and avoid allergens. Children who are allergic to milk protein should switch to amino acid formula powder or extensively hydrolyzed protein formula powder.

2. Protect the skin barrier function. For exudative and dry eczema, if there is no ulceration on the surface, children should be given some non-allergic moisturizing cream to play a moisturizing role. For severe eczema, topical corticosteroid cream can be applied short-term, which has obvious anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects. Be careful to avoid long-term and high-dose application to avoid side effects. If the local ulcer is infected, antibiotic ointment needs to be applied locally for anti-inflammatory treatment.
