Babies don't gain weight in summer

The baby's body will grow rapidly after birth, but in summer, the baby's weight gain is not obvious. Due to the hot weather, the baby will lose his appetite, so you should add more nutrients to the baby's normal diet. You can make some complementary foods for the baby to supplement, but choose easily digestible foods, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc. And you have to feed your baby at regular times and in regular amounts so that his weight will change.

The baby's body starts to grow four months after birth, and both height and weight should change. However, there are cases where the baby does not gain weight. Why is this? Mothers are also very anxious. What are the reasons why babies do not gain weight? Let’s take a look at the reasons why babies do not gain weight. Height reflects the baby's long-term nutritional status and is also related to genetics. Weight reflects recent nutritional status. Judging from the baby's current height, it is within the normal range. Judging from the baby's weight gain rate, the weight should increase by more than 600 grams per month from 4 to 6 months, and by 250 grams per month from 6 to 7 months.

There may be many reasons why babies fail to gain weight, among which improper addition of complementary foods is the main reason. If the amount of complementary food consumed is insufficient or the types are unbalanced, the baby will not gain weight or may even lose weight. Generally, a 7-month-old baby should be given 1 serving of complementary food and 1 serving of fruit every day in addition to 800 ml of milk. The complementary food includes 2 spoons of thick porridge, 2 spoons of vegetables, half a spoon of meat or half an egg. Your baby is already 7 months old. It is not enough to add only rice cereal and eggs. Feed your baby 2 spoons of vegetables every day and add fruit once a day to meet your baby's needs for vitamins and minerals. You can also feed your baby meat puree, liver puree, fish puree and eggs alternately so that your baby can get a variety of nutrients.

Additionally, if your baby has had pneumonia, diarrhea, or is currently suffering from indigestion, this can also cause temporary stagnation or weight loss.

The above are the reasons why the baby does not gain weight. Parents are reminded to pay attention to the addition of complementary foods and to match them reasonably. If the baby has pneumonia, diarrhea or digestive diseases, it will also cause the baby to not gain weight. It is necessary to go to the hospital for examination in time.
