How to give first aid to a child who is angry and convulsing?

Some children suffer from epilepsy due to congenital epilepsy or due to excessive fright, high fever, etc. At this time, we should not only pay attention to timely treatment for the child, but also avoid the child from being too emotional, because when the child is emotionally excited, such as being angry, it can induce an epileptic seizure, and at this time symptoms of clenched teeth and convulsions will appear. So, what should be done in this case?

If sudden systemic cramps occur, you should stay calm and stop the cramps, and see a doctor immediately. Generally, cramps will not endanger life immediately, so there is no need to panic. 1. Emergency measures taken before the doctor arrives:

1. Immediately lay the child flat on the bed, with the head tilted to one side and slightly tilted back, the neck slightly raised, and the patient's tie, belt, waist belt, etc. loosened. Be careful not to let the patient fall to the ground.

2. Quickly clear the secretions and vomit from the mouth, nose, throat and throat to ensure the patency of the respiratory tract and prevent the tongue from falling back. To prevent the teeth from biting the tongue, a tongue depressor or chopsticks wrapped in gauze or cloth should be placed between the upper and lower teeth. And pinch and press the Ren Zhong and Hegu acupoints with your fingers. All the above requirements must be completed quickly within a few seconds.

3. Prevent the patient from colliding with surrounding hard objects and getting injured during violent convulsions, but never press down the convulsing limbs with force to avoid causing fractures.

(II) Doctor’s emergency rescue measures:

1. Immediately use any of the following drugs to stop the convulsions: intravenous injection of diazepam, or intramuscular injection of phenobarbital sodium, or retention enema with 10% chloral hydrate plus normal saline, or intramuscular injection of 5% paraben. If the above drugs are ineffective, sodium amytal can be used.

2. Treatment must be directed at the cause, and infectious convulsions should be treated with antibiotics.

3. Those with high fever should cooperate with cooling treatment.

4. Give oxygen inhalation.

When a child has an epileptic seizure and convulsions due to anger, be sure to put a towel in the child's mouth to prevent the child from biting his tongue and other problems. There should be no one around, and the child should be allowed to breathe fresh air. While performing first aid at home, be sure to call the emergency number and ask the doctor for emergency treatment.
