The following is an introduction to the causes of rubella in babies.

[Etiology and pathogenesis] The pathogen is rubella virus and the nucleic acid is RNA. This virus can only cause disease in humans and monkeys, and the virus can be isolated from the blood and pharyngeal secretions of early patients. It is mainly transmitted through droplets. After entering the human body, it first grows and multiplies in the upper respiratory tract and cervical lymph nodes, and then spreads to other parts of the body through the blood circulation. An inflammatory reaction occurs during the formation and binding of antigen and antibody, and a rash appears clinically. '

【Clinical symptoms】. It occurs in young children, with an incubation period of 14 to 21 days. The main symptoms are mild fever before the onset of rash, swollen lymph nodes in the neck and occipital area, and the rash first appears as light red macules or papules on the face that spread to the trunk and limbs, with dark red macules or petechiae appearing on the soft palate, cheeks, uvula, etc. The rash disappears within 1 to 2 days, leaving no trace after disappearing. During the prodromal period and the initial onset of the rash, the white blood cell count decreases, including both lymphocytes and neutrophils. Around the 5th day after the onset of the rash, the lymphocyte count increases and plasma cells may also appear. If a pregnant woman contracts rubella, fetal malformation, miscarriage, premature birth, or stillbirth may occur within four months. Complications in children are rare, mainly respiratory inflammation and encephalitis. Complications of rubella in older children or adults often include pain in the small joints of the hands and feet, and rarely, may be accompanied by thrombocytopenia or purpura. Congenital rubella syndrome is manifested by congenital cataracts, glaucoma, deafness, heart disease, intellectual disability, etc.

[Treatment] Chinese medicine should be used to dispel wind and clear heat, and Jingfang Decoction can be modified. Western medicine should be used for symptomatic treatment, and antibiotics can be given to prevent bacterial infection.

The above are the solutions and coping methods for rubella in babies. In modern life, every parent can pay attention to these issues and want to better ensure the health of the baby.
