Is it bad if the baby takes a bath every day?

Clean-loving mothers often bathe their babies once a day, thinking that this is more hygienic. After all, the baby's metabolism is still very active, and the deposition of metabolic waste will not affect the baby's health and skin fairness. So is it not good for the baby to bathe every day? If the skin is relatively tender, it is better not to bathe it every day. Of course, the number of baths can be increased as the baby gets older.

Babies' skin is different from adults'. Their skin is thinner and more delicate. Bathing them every day can indeed keep them clean, but it may also cause dry skin. Especially for children with dry skin, soaking in water every day may cause the skin to become dehydrated, drier, and even peeling. If you bathe your child for too long, the outermost stratum corneum of the skin will absorb water and become soft, reducing the skin's resistance. In addition, you don’t have to use shower gel every time you bathe your child. Just wash with clean water.

There is a layer of oil on the outside of children's skin, which plays an important role in keeping the skin moisturized, reducing external irritation and keeping warm. Many shower gels are alkaline, which will destroy this layer of oil and easily make the skin dry and rough. Repeatedly rubbing the body with shower gel may cause sensitive skin in severe cases. Therefore, if the child is not too dirty, there is no need to wash him every day. It can be washed every one or two days depending on the specific situation. Bath gel can be used once a week. If you need to take a shower every day when the weather is hot, just rinsing with clean water will be enough.

There is absolutely no need to bathe your baby every day, especially for newborns. Because bathing will make the newborn exhausted; scrubbing with soap will remove the oil on the surface of its skin, and this layer of oil plays an important role in keeping the baby warm, preventing infection and external stimulation, and cannot be replaced by any other refined oil.

It is enough to bathe infants and young children twice a week in winter and three times a week in summer. It is best to do it before meals, the water temperature should be around 36 degrees Celsius, and the room temperature should not be lower than 20 degrees Celsius. Do not let your child stay in the water for too long, and the baby should not stay in the water for more than 5 minutes. When bathing your baby, pay attention to keeping him warm and safe. It is best to bathe with clean water, and each bath should not exceed 10 minutes.

As to whether it is not good for babies to bathe every day, the answer is very clear. Mothers need to choose the frequency and time period of bathing according to the specific conditions of the baby. Moreover, the water temperature must meet the requirements for each bath. It cannot be too cold or too hot, otherwise it is easy to cause colds or irritation and damage to the skin.
