What causes memory loss in children?

Memory is very important for children, especially in the face of Chinese-style education and huge academic pressure. Good memory can help children remember the knowledge they need to master, so many parents are looking for ways to help their children improve their memory. However, many children may suffer from memory loss due to lack of sleep or lack of energy. So what should we do if a child suffers from memory loss?

Tip 1: Appropriate repetition

The more familiar things are, the easier it is for babies to remember them. The purpose of repetition is to help babies deepen their impression of things. If you tell the story several times, your baby may remember it naturally. Babies can remember things they see often. For example, if parents want their baby to recognize various colors, they don’t have to use color cards to teach them. As long as they tell their baby what color an object is when they see it in daily life, the baby will remember it after saying it several times.

Take recognizing the color red as an example. When your baby sees red flowers, tell him/her: "These red flowers are so beautiful. These flowers are red." When your baby is eating a big red apple, tell him/her: "Baby, you are eating a big red apple, right?" In this way, your baby will be able to recognize various colors soon.

Of course, the number of repetitions should be moderate, as long as the baby is still interested. When the baby is tired of repetition or has already remembered it, do not repeat it.

Tip 2: Image-assisted method

Babies under 3 years old have weak memory for words, and their memory is mainly based on emotion and image. Therefore, when parents ask their babies to memorize abstract materials such as nursery rhymes, stories, letters, numbers, etc., they should accompany them with pictures, actions or exaggerated sounds. For example, you can tell a story while performing actions, or draw the story into a comic strip, and then tell the story with your baby while looking at the pictures. These will all help your baby remember the story.

For example, if you want your baby to remember your home phone number, you can make the phone number into a piece of music or an interesting nursery rhyme, so that your baby can remember it quickly and firmly. Of course, when using the image-assisted method, you can combine it with the "association method" and imagine the content to be remembered as familiar images. For example, when remembering numbers, you can imagine each number as a familiar image.

The above article introduces some methods that can help improve memory, but not all methods are suitable. In addition to these methods that can improve memory, we also need to make appropriate adjustments, such as eating more brain-enhancing foods, such as walnuts, milk, peanuts, almonds, pine nuts, melon seeds, etc., and eat more fruits and protein-rich foods.
