What should children pay attention to when learning to swim?

Today's parents all hope that their children can learn more skills, on the one hand to expand their talents, and on the other hand to be able to learn how to deal with danger. Examples of this include Taekwondo, swimming and other sports. Today, I would like to analyze with young parents and friends some things we should pay attention to when children learn to swim.

It is best for children to wear swimming goggles when swimming. Experts remind that when children are swimming, parents should first pay attention to helping them protect their delicate eyes, otherwise they are prone to eye diseases. The water in swimming pools is often disinfected with bleach, which is mildly irritating. After swimming, your eyes are prone to mild redness, which often disappears on their own after tens of minutes and generally does not require treatment. However, if there is a tendency to worsen or if you swim in unsterilized water, it can easily cause bacterial or viral conjunctivitis.

Patients often have mild symptoms when they first come out of the water. After one or two days, the conjunctiva will become noticeably congested and the secretions will gradually increase. At this time, timely treatment is needed, using antibiotics or antiviral eye drops. Some swimming pools have public eye drops for use after swimming, but once the mouth of the public eye drops bottle is contaminated, it can easily cause cross infection. Therefore, it is best for parents to prepare their own anti-inflammatory eye drops for their children, such as lincomycin or ofloxacin eye drops.

Many children do not like to wear swimming goggles when swimming. In fact, if they can wear swimming goggles throughout the swimming process, they can effectively avoid exogenous infections. If you are swimming in an outdoor pool or at the beach, don't forget to bring UV-resistant swimming goggles. Some low-quality lenses do not have anti-UV function. Although the sunlight intensity does not feel high after wearing such glasses, a large amount of harmful rays (such as ultraviolet rays) will enter children's eyes. If your child develops photophobia, tearing, or decreased vision after swimming outdoors, you must seek medical attention promptly as the cornea or even the retina may be damaged.

I wonder if, after understanding the above, you young parents have reflected on whether you have considered it in more detail when preparing your children to learn swimming. When it comes to children's education, the care of our parents is essential. We may be too busy with work to spend time with them, but as long as we care, that is enough.
