How to treat constipation in children?

Constipation in children is common in our lives. There are many reasons for constipation, but children are usually constipated because they do not drink enough water or get angry. Constipation has a great impact on children. When children are constipated, we must not rush to use drugs to treat them. We can try to adjust the children's diet at ordinary times to keep them away from such troubles.

Constipation is related to the body's physiological condition, and you should pay attention to your diet while taking medication.

1. High-fiber diet: Eat more fresh vegetables and add bran and wheat bran every day to increase the fiber intake in the diet, expand the volume of stool, promote intestinal peristalsis, and reduce the occurrence of constipation.

2. Drink plenty of water: especially when eating high-fiber foods, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. In particular, drinking a glass of light salt water in the morning is very beneficial for keeping the intestines clean and unobstructed and softening the stool.

3. Eat gas-producing vegetables and pectin foods with softening effect in moderation: Eat gas-producing vegetables in moderation, such as potatoes, carrots, onions, soybeans, raw cucumbers, etc. The gas in the intestines can increase intestinal peristalsis and relieve gas and facilitate bowel movements. Eating foods with high pectin content, such as apples, bananas, carrots, beets, cabbage, citrus, etc., can soften stools and relieve symptoms.

4. Regular consumption of honey and starch: Regular consumption of honey and starch can reduce the occurrence of constipation. Honey has a lubricating effect on the intestines, and starch can absorb water to soften the stool.

5. Increase the intake of B vitamins: Increase the supply of B vitamins and try to choose natural, unprocessed foods, such as whole grains, beans, yeast, etc., to enhance the tension of the intestines.

6. What foods should not be chosen: Avoid eating foods that stimulate the secretion of mucous glands, such as dairy products, high-fat foods and spiced foods.

As parents, we'd better give our children some food that can replenish their internal heat. We should avoid giving them some puffed foods or spicy foods as they will cause constipation. We should let children drink more water and do more outdoor exercises. We can take them for a walk, or do radio gymnastics, etc. to help them increase their physical resistance.
