Treatment of herpes in children

Treatment of herpes in children

In fact, the probability of contracting herpes is closely related to a person's body immunity, so the elderly and children are the high-risk groups for herpes. Especially when children have been in contact with their parents for a long time, parents are like ants on a hot pan after they find out that their children have herpes. The treatments for herpes in children and adults are also different. So what are the treatments for herpes in children?

Treatment for herpes in children is as follows:

1. Symptomatic treatment: For itchy skin without ulceration, calamine lotion can be applied, and antibiotic ointment can be applied after the herpes has ruptured. Patients with obvious pain from herpes zoster should be given analgesics such as indomethacin, and vitamin B1 and B12 can be taken orally or intramuscularly. In case of secondary infection, 0.5% neomycin cream or mupirocin ointment can be used externally.

2. Vaccines and immunosuppressants: For children with severe primary genital herpes and recurrent attacks, non-specific vaccines such as BCG and polio vaccine can be used to enhance the body's non-specific immunity. They should be used with caution in patients with immunosuppression and immunodeficiency.

3. General treatment: get enough rest, eat easily digestible food, and stay hydrated. Strengthen care, keep skin clean and prevent secondary bacterial infection. Clothes, bedding, towels, dressings, etc. that have come into contact with herpes fluid should be disinfected promptly and not shared with healthy people. Patients with herpetic gingivostomatitis should keep their mouths clean and gargle with 1:1000 benzalkonium bromide solution. Patients with genital herpes should avoid sexual intercourse during treatment.

4. External treatment with Chinese medicine: Apply the Chinese medicine cream Bolikang externally to treat local symptoms, which can be eliminated in 30 days. At the same time, you should increase exercise.

Children with herpes should pay attention to their diet. They should not eat spicy food or seafood. Their diet should be light and they should eat more fruits and vegetables to strengthen their physical fitness.

The dietary taboos for children with herpes rash are as follows:

1. Avoid spicy and hot foods: Spicy and hot foods such as alcohol, tobacco, ginger, chili, mutton, beef and fried foods can easily increase fire and heat after eating. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by the accumulation of dampness, heat and fire toxins in the skin, so patients with this disease should avoid eating the above-mentioned spicy and hot foods. :

2. Be careful when eating fatty and greasy foods: Fatty meat, maltose, milk and sweet foods are mostly greasy and fatty, which can easily cause the damp-heat toxins of the disease to be trapped inside the body and cause the disease to linger.

3. Be careful when eating sour and astringent foods: Sour and astringent foods include peas, water chestnuts, pomegranates, taro, spinach, etc. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is mostly caused by emotional distress, liver qi stagnation, long-term stagnation turning into fire, and the invasion of toxic evil. Therefore, treatment should focus on promoting qi and blood circulation and removing blood stasis. The sour, astringent and bitter foods mentioned above can easily cause blood circulation obstruction, retention of toxins and aggravate pain.

The above are methods for treating herpes in children and the taboos when treating your own children. In life, parents should pay more attention to their children's eating habits, and let their children actively cooperate with the doctor when they have herpes. Lead your children to exercise more.
