How to judge at what age children start learning to speak?

The time period for children to learn to speak varies from person to person. Every baby has a different level of development and learning ability. Parents must remember not to be impatient and pursue speed in this regard and force their children to accept things from the outside world. Today, I will introduce to you the normal time period for children to learn to speak, hoping to help all parents of children.

Generally speaking, a baby will be able to lift his head and legs and sit up at around 3 months old. At 5 months old, he will begin to have the strength to roll over. At 6 months old, he can basically crawl. Crawling takes a little longer, and at 10-11 months, he will slowly stand up and learn to walk. At 1 to 1 and a half years old, he can walk independently.

Speaking has a lot to do with the language environment.

1. Create an environment with sufficient language stimulation, read nursery rhymes and stories to your children more often, repeat appropriately, and increase your children's impression of phonetic sentences.

2. When talking to children, speak slowly, clearly, and at a level close to the child’s current development level.

3. Before the child starts to speak, point to objects and name them. For example, if the child is looking at the TV, follow his gaze, point and tell him that this is a "television" and repeat it several times. If the child is interested in flowers, tell him that this is a "flower". Don't say baby talk like "flowers, woof, rice", otherwise the child will have to learn the correct names a second time in the future, resulting in unnecessary learning waste.

After doing all this, all that’s left is to wait patiently. If you do enough preparation, your child will often give you unexpected surprises.

Every child may speak early or late due to the language environment, but no matter which child, they will develop spoken language at their own pace following the same language development trajectory: that is, in terms of phonetics, it goes from monosyllabic words - bilingual words - polysyllabic words; in terms of word nature, it goes from nouns - verbs - prepositions - complete sentences.

Based on the above introduction, I believe many parents of children should be relieved. It is a natural process for children to learn to speak. During the child's development and growth stage, parents must pay attention to their own words and actions, and set a good example for their children, because children have particularly high abilities to learn and imitate.
