Treatment for red eyelids in babies

Treatment for red eyelids in babies

Children's skin is very fragile, and frequent irritation can cause skin damage. So what should we do if a child has red eyelids? Although everyone cares about and protects children's skin, it is inevitable that some problems will sometimes arise. This causes the troublesome problem of red eyelids in babies, but parents don’t need to worry too much about it. There are many treatments for baby's red eyelids. You can try them. Who knows, they may be gone in a few days.

The skin closest to the edge of the eyeball is the "eyelid". Inflammation of the eyelashes and eyelid edges due to inflammatory reaction or bacterial infection is called "eyelid inflammation". It is one of the most common causes of external eye irritation. The following is an introduction to the treatment of this disease, which patients should understand.

I. Basic Principles

When blepharitis first occurs, you can apply ice to the swollen and painful eyelids, use anti-inflammatory eye drops, and take oral antibiotics if necessary. Most cases can disappear within three to four days; if the gland is swollen and festering, surgical incision and drainage are required.

1. Use eyelid cleanser to clean scabs and dandruff in the eyelash area.

2. For severe cases, especially those associated with bacterial infections, topical antibiotic oil tinctures may be prescribed.

3. Corticosteroid oil tincture will provide short-term relief. In recalcitrant cases, oral antibiotics may be needed. If the infection has spread to the cornea, both antibiotics and corticosteroid drops may be needed to treat the infection.

2. External Therapy

1. In the early stage when pus has not yet formed, hot and wet compress can be used to help dissipate the pus.

2. Use Zijin Tablets or Qinghuo Eye Pills, mix with external eye drops or other anti-inflammatory eye drops or cold boiled water, and apply to the affected skin; you can also use Ruyi Golden Cream to apply to the local skin. CAUTION: Do not apply medication in eyes.

3. Take several pieces of fresh Commelina, remove the leaves and stems, wash them and place them on the flame of an alcohol lamp or bake them on fire. Squeeze them with your fingers and quickly apply the juice flowing out of the broken ends to the affected area. Be careful not to apply it into the eyes. Apply 4 to 5 times a day.

4. Use 1-2 grams of fresh red peony root, white flower snake tongue grass, dandelion, wild chrysanthemum, etc., wash and mash them, and apply them to the affected skin. Be careful not to apply them into the eyes.

3. Surgical treatment

When pus has formed, it should be incised and drained. When the pus head is located on the skin surface of the eyelid, the incision should be parallel to the eyelid chord; when the pus head is located on the inner surface of the eyelid, the incision should be perpendicular to the eyelid chord. It must be noted: If pus forms in the affected area, do not squeeze it. If this causes widespread swelling of the eyelids, purple swelling and severe pain, or is accompanied by chills, fever, headache and other serious symptoms, it means the condition has worsened and should be treated as an eye doctor.

I believe that everyone can find a way to solve the problem of red eyelids for babies. In fact, the most important thing is that everyone can take good care of the baby's life. If the baby can live well in a good environment, then such a problem should not occur. By the way, when the baby is still very young, everyone must remember not to take the baby to a place with strong light, which can easily cause a sharp decline in the baby's vision!
