Why does a seven-month-old baby catch a cold?

Why does a seven-month-old baby catch a cold?

A cold in a 7-month-old baby is a common disease caused by respiratory tract infection. The pathogenic bacteria of this disease mainly enter the body through the nasal cavity or throat and cause infection. When a 7-month-old baby catches a cold, severe cases may even cause swollen lymph nodes in the neck and eyes. Such a phenomenon should be treated early and should not be treated lightly. In fact, the pathogens that cause colds in 7-month-old babies can be viruses or bacteria, among which colds caused by viruses are the most common.

Some environmental factors can cause 7-month-old babies to catch colds, so parents should pay attention. Some children live in poor living conditions, which are dark and damp. Some indoor temperatures are too high or too low. Some families like to keep doors and windows closed all day long, resulting in poor air circulation; some family members are addicted to smoking, and when they light a fire in the room, smoke pollution is serious. A bad environment and turbid air are extremely harmful to the respiratory tract and are important causes of colds.

A 7-month-old baby’s cold is also related to their lack of activity. Due to objective conditions or insufficient attention, many children lack outdoor activities. In northern China and areas with longer cold seasons, children stay indoors most of the time. Once they get a little cold, they cannot adapt and are very likely to catch a cold.

Since children's immune systems are not fully developed and they are easily invaded by various pathogens, it is important to prevent colds. Children should have a balanced diet. If they can eat, fruits, vegetables and meat should be balanced. Children should not be allowed to be picky eaters. In addition, the environment in which children live should not be too noisy, and their sleep time should be guaranteed every day. When your body is hot, you can use physical methods to cool it down, such as wiping your body with alcohol or a wet towel.
