What should I do if my child's eyes are tearing up?

Tearing eyes in children is a common pediatric disease. At this time, not only will the children shed tears, but the delay is also relatively long, and scabs can be seen on the eyelids. In more serious cases, there may even be symptoms such as pus reflux. For children with tearing eyes, you can try tear duct irrigation treatment. A child may be crying because of dacryocystitis. At this time, he should actively go to the hospital for examination to find out the cause of the inflammation. If it is caused by bacteria, antibacterial drugs should be used for treatment.

If a child's tearing eyes have been diagnosed, routine antibiotics should be used as eye drops three times a day, combined with massage of the lacrimal sac area and conservative treatment for 2-3 months. If conservative treatment is not effective, tear duct probing surgery can be chosen. If conservative treatment is ineffective; if tear duct probing is ineffective or if older children are suffering from tear duct intubation surgery, they should choose tear duct intubation surgery as soon as possible, because long-term tear duct obstruction and inflammatory stimulation can cause serious complications for children; they should go to a regular ophthalmology hospital as soon as possible to avoid misdiagnosis and treatment, which will aggravate the condition.

If a child's eyes are tearing and he is diagnosed with dacryocystitis, you can squeeze the lacrimal sac backwards and downwards. The residual membrane of the tear duct may be broken. This should be done 3-5 times a day. The tear duct is flushed under pressure, and the number of flushing times and intervals are determined according to the child's condition. Give antibiotic eye drops four times a day for 2 to 3 weeks.

When children's eyes are tearing, eye drops may be used for treatment. When using eye drops, you should be careful to tighten the bottle cap after each use, and the bottle mouth should not come into direct contact with the eyes when applying eye drops. If your eyes are tearing, do not flush the tear duct blindly, because if you do so blindly, it is likely to cause fistula, which will not only fail to cure the tearing phenomenon, but will make the tearing phenomenon worse.
