How many times is normal for a baby to eat at night

The arrival of a new life undoubtedly brings immense joy to the whole family, and taking care of the food, clothing and daily life of this new life has become the top priority of the whole family. However, many new mothers are still unclear about many aspects of taking care of their babies. How should they take care of their babies in a scientific way? What should they pay attention to? How many times a night is normal for a baby to feed? How can I bring out a healthy baby? The following is a brief introduction to these issues.

In theory, babies whose height and physical development meet the standards can skip the night meal from the fourth month onwards. That is, after being fed at around 10 o'clock in the evening, they should sleep until 6 o'clock the next morning. Otherwise it will be detrimental to children's development of good work and rest and eating habits. It doesn’t matter if the baby is a little hungry at night, sleeping does not consume any energy. The purpose is to make him eat well and be full during the day. First, delay the baby's last feed before going to bed at night to around 10 or 11 o'clock and feed him full. If the baby still wakes up at 3 or 4 o'clock, coax him first and give him water. Don't feed him milk. Only feed him milk if he still makes noise after giving water. The milk powder should also be prepared a little thinner than usual. Gradually, he will be able to extend his continuous sleep time and stop drinking milk at night. Do not add complementary foods to your child before going to bed.

Babies sleep in cycles, each cycle lasts about 60 minutes. They will wake up automatically at the end of the cycle. If they are not hungry or need to urinate, they will automatically enter the next sleep cycle. At this time, do not disturb his sleep. The average sleep time for babies over 5 months old is 14 hours a day. During this period, most babies do not feed at night and can sleep for a long time, sleeping continuously for more than 6 hours. Your child will wake up 3-4 times at night, and ask for a hug or to be fed. If he cannot get what he wants, he will cry. We call this bad habit "sleeping-along condition". Once corrected, he will sleep longer.

Try not to feed your baby too many times at night. It will not only affect the parents' sleep, but also the baby's sleep quality, and is not conducive to the baby's growth and development. If the baby often sleeps restlessly and cries several times a night, you should take the baby to the hospital to check trace elements and other conditions. The crying may be caused by calcium deficiency. Frequent breastfeeding at night will also make the baby overweight. New mothers should not be too accommodating to the baby, as it is not good for the baby's growth.
