Birth weight standard

Birth weight standard

I don’t know if you know about the situation of children’s birth weight. Nowadays, many babies are not the same as before. Many babies’ abnormal development is now common, which has also brought great distress to our parents. There are many reasons for this situation. We must find the correct reasons to better treat our own problems. Maybe many parents don’t know much about the birth weight of their children. Let us learn about the standard birth weight of children!

Weight standard:

Generally speaking, children aged 2-12 can use the following formula to roughly estimate their height:

Height (CM) = (age - 2) x 5 + 85 = age x 5 + 75

Formula for calculating weight according to age:

Infant: Weight in the first six months (kg) = birth weight + age in months X 0.7

Weight in the second half of the year (kg) = birth weight + 6 x 0.7 + (age in months - 6) x 0.5

Weight of children aged 2-12 (kg) = (age) X2 + 12 = age X2 + 8

The evaluation indicators of body weight are as follows:

Less than 60% of standard body weight Severe malnutrition

60-80% of standard body weight Moderate malnutrition

80-90% of standard body weight Mild malnutrition

90-110% of standard body weight Normal range

>120% of standard body weight Obesity

Calculation formula for measuring standard body weight

There are two commonly used calculation methods:

One is:

Adult:〔Height (cm)-100〕×0.9=standard weight (kg)

Another one is:

Male: Height (cm) - 105 = Standard Weight (kg)

Female: Height (cm) - 100 = Standard Weight (kg)

The above two calculation methods have basically been widely adopted.

In addition, the Academy of Military Sciences recently introduced a method to calculate the ideal weight of Chinese people:

Ideal weight for northerners = (height cm-150) × 0.6 + 50 (kg)

Ideal weight for southerners = (height cm-150) × 0.6 + 48 (kg)

This calculation method seems to be more suitable for Chinese people in the north and south.

The simple method to calculate the standard weight of children is:

1 to 6 months: birth weight (kg) + age in months × 0.6 = standard weight (kg)

7-12 months: birth weight (kg) + age in months × 0.5 = standard weight (kg)

Over 1 year old: 8 + age × 2 = standard weight (kg)

The above content gives us a detailed introduction to the child's birth weight standard. I believe that everyone must have understood it now. We should learn more about the knowledge that helps children grow up healthily, so that they can grow up happily, fulfill their responsibilities as a parent, and make the whole family especially happy.
