Amblyopia training methods for children

Amblyopia training methods for children

We also know that amblyopia has a great impact on patients, especially children. Amblyopia not only has a certain impact on their psychology, but also has a relatively large impact on their future. Amblyopia training is amblyopia treatment, so what are the methods of amblyopia training for children? Next, let me introduce to you two common methods of amblyopia training for children.

Regular training

1. Occlusion therapy (cover one eye and use the other to see): It is an ancient and effective method of treating amblyopia. It is one of the simplest, most economical and most effective methods of treating amblyopia in children.

2. Fine vision training: It is a special applied training for amblyopic eyes, which is beneficial to visual development and improving vision. There are many methods for fine vision training, which should be selected according to the age, intelligence and vision of the amblyopic child, and the training method can also be changed frequently;

3. Correcting refractive errors: Making objects appear clearly on the retina is the first key step in treating amblyopia. Before fitting glasses, you must use atropine to dilate your pupil for eye examination. After obtaining accurate eye examination readings, you can then be given reasonable therapeutic glasses. Re-test every six months;

4. Light brush training: further stimulate the macula, especially for paracentral fixation;

5. Red light flashing training: Use red light with a wavelength of 630 nanometers to stimulate the cells in the central area of the macula of the fundus. This area is the most sensitive area of the fundus, and stimulation can accelerate cell growth and improve children's vision;

6. Grating training: Use computer multimedia to conduct fine vision training on visual function, and gradually improve children's vision and visual function;

7. Afterimage therapy: If amblyopia is caused by paracentral injection, afterimage therapy can be performed. Treatment is performed using an amblyopia treatment device, generally 1 to 2 times a day; each function is performed for 5 minutes each time; it can be performed with or without glasses depending on the degree of amblyopia.

The amblyopia treatment process is boring, long, and the therapeutic effects are easily inconsistent. Children often suffer lifelong regrets because they cannot persist in the treatment. Therefore, parents must follow the doctor's instructions and urge their children to cooperate with the treatment so as not to affect the training effect.

Family training

1. Ring-threading training: Hold a circle with a diameter of 1 cm, aim at the circle with your amblyopic eye, and thread a wire through it at the same time. Repeat the training every day until you can quickly and accurately thread the circle.

2. Puncture point training: Those who have normal gaze or have restored central gaze after gaze training can choose this training. You can use dots and lines to draw various animals or objects on ordinary white paper as training pictures. During training, cover your healthy eye, hold a pen, look at the pattern with your amblyopic eye, and prick each dot with the tip of the pen. This method is a simple and easy family training method. Generally, those with severe amblyopia cannot accurately puncture the pattern in the early stage of training, but can accurately puncture after repeated training.

3. Embroidery training: In order to improve the vision of amblyopia, you can cover the healthy eye and use the amblyopia eye for embroidery training. This is also an effective family training method.

4. Concentration training method: The purpose of this therapy is to enhance concentration. Fix the patient's lower jaw and ask him to look at a target, then gradually move the target closer to the tip of the nose. At this time, the eyes will continue to strengthen their concentration. Repeat this process to train concentration.

5. Eye muscle training: Eye muscle training is to let the patient look at the target and follow the target (the target swing direction and speed can be adjusted according to different situations). Take a stick that can change the swinging direction and rotation speed. After fixing the child's head, move the stick horizontally, rotationally, or diagonally. Let the child look at the tip of the stick and follow the swinging of the stick in various directions to train the eye muscles.

The methods of training disadvantaged children are divided into conventional training and family training. Once parents find that their children have symptoms of amblyopia, they must actively take treatment measures. In addition, children with amblyopia should undergo regular vision and eye examinations. Only in this way can the symptoms of amblyopia be alleviated. Here I also wish all patients a speedy recovery.
