Sun time for babies

Sun time for babies

We all know that sun exposure helps promote calcium absorption. For newborns, sunbathing is also good for them. However, because the skin of newborns is relatively tender and easily sunburned, mothers need to understand the best time for their babies to bask in the sun and some precautions when basking in the sun. So, today I will introduce to you the best time for babies to bask in the sun.

It is right to take your child to sunbathe frequently, but you must master the correct method. The child's skin is very delicate and easily hurt. Sunbathing does not mean letting the child receive direct sunlight in the sun. When taking your baby to sunbathe, avoid going to crowded places and do not expose the baby to the sun. Just let the child stay in the shade of a tree. If you can't find a shade, you can put a hat on the child and use a parasol. The time for infants to sunbathe depends on the season. The sun is milder in winter, so it is suitable to sunbathe outdoors more. In winter, it is generally around 11-12 noon; in spring and autumn, it is generally between 10 and 11; in summer, it is generally between 9 and 10. The length of time for sunbathing should be from less to more, from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Pay attention to hydration after sunbathing. It is particularly emphasized that the exposure time should be gradually extended, from more than ten minutes to 1 hour. It is best to rest in the shade for a while. When sunbathing, if you have headaches, dizziness, palpitations, skin flushing or burning pain, you should immediately rest in a cool place. And give cool drinks or light salt water, or wipe the child's body with warm water.

Where to sunbathe?

Don't shoot directly into the eyes, the back of the head, buttocks, hands and feet are all fine

There are a few points to note:

1. When sunbathing, the sun should be in direct contact with the skin. Sunbathing through glass or wearing clothes will reduce the effect of ultraviolet rays by more than 30%.

2. Avoid sunbathing on an empty stomach or within 1 hour after breakfast.

3. Babies with rickets or who have never taken cod liver oil or calcium tablets are not suitable for sun exposure. They should take vitamin D preparations for a period of time before being exposed to sunlight.

4. Sunbathing can sometimes cause solar dermatitis. Due to dry skin and pollen irritation, babies will develop symptoms such as erythema, papules, and local peeling after sunbathing. Eating some foods such as mustard, purslane, water spinach, and figs and then sunbathing can also cause photosensitive drug eruptions or solar dermatitis.

5. When your baby is sunbathing, you can wear small glasses to protect his eyes or use a small umbrella to cover his head when lying down to protect his eyes. Do not expose your baby to the sun for a long time, as it may easily burn the baby's skin and cause adverse consequences.

6. Your baby can start sunbathing for 5 to 10 minutes and gradually increase the time. Try not to exceed 30 minutes each time. Sunbathing should be done every day and persisted for a long time to achieve good fitness and disease prevention effects.

The above is what I want to introduce to you today about the best time for babies to sunbathe and some precautions when sunbathing. Mothers can learn about it. I hope my sharing will be helpful to everyone. In fact, for babies, the best way to supplement calcium is to get it from food, so mothers should give their babies a balanced diet.
