Causes and hazards of small intestinal hernia in children

Parents with young children at home must be curious about what to do if their children unfortunately suffer from intestinal hernia? Children are the apple of their parents' eyes. If a child is sick, both the child and the mother will feel the pain. Because intestinal hernias always occur in special locations, parents' worries are much more serious than for other diseases. In fact, if a child unfortunately suffers from intestinal hernia, parents do not need to worry too much. They should recognize the child's symptoms in time, prescribe the right medicine, and go to a regular hospital for treatment. This is the best care for the child. Let us take a look at the causes and dangers of intestinal hernia in children.

Symptoms of hernia in children: Hernia in children usually occurs when the child cries, exercises vigorously, or has dry stools. There will be a protruding mass in the groin, which sometimes extends to the scrotum or labia area. It will disappear on its own when the child lies flat or is pressed with the hands. Hernia in children can also affect the child's digestive system, resulting in symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, poor absorption function, fatigue and physical deterioration. Because the groin area is adjacent to the urogenital system, the normal development of the child's reproductive system may be affected by the compression of hernia.

Causes:

1. Hernias in children may occur days, months, or years after birth.

2. Usually when a child is crying, exercising vigorously, or has dry stools, there will be a protruding lump in the groin, which sometimes extends to the scrotum or labia area; it will disappear on its own when the child lies flat or is pressed with the hands.

3. Once the hernia becomes incarcerated (the hernia mass cannot be reduced), abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, anorexia, or crying and irritability will occur.

4. In the early stages of hernia in children, the swelling may disappear when the child lies flat and quiet; as the intra-abdominal pressure continues to increase, the swelling may drop into the scrotum. At this time, if the factors causing increased intra-abdominal pressure can be eliminated, and the child can be made to lie flat, or the swelling can be gently pushed toward the abdominal cavity, the swelling can return to the abdominal cavity through the channel through which the testicle descends, and the swelling disappears. This situation is called reducible hernia.

Suggestions:

1. Conservative treatment: Conservative treatment mainly includes two types: drug therapy and hernia belt therapy. Drug therapy: It can relieve symptoms such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, constipation, etc. caused by hernia, thereby reducing the hernia; the disadvantage is that it cannot control hernia prolapse, let alone cure hernia. Commonly used Chinese patent medicines include Hernia Neixiao Pills, Juhe Pills, Buzhong Yiqi Pills, etc.; or grind cinnamon into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply gauze to the navel.

2 Hernia belt therapy: It can quickly stop the bulging of the hernia, thereby effectively preventing the development of the hernia and relieving symptoms such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and constipation caused by the hernia; the disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to use and cannot cure hernia.

Hernia can cause serious harm to patients:

Hazard 1. Hernia can affect the human digestive system. Since the tumor contains organs and tissues such as the small intestine and colon, it can cause patients to experience symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, poor nutrient absorption, fatigue and physical deterioration.

Harm 2: Hernia can affect the function of the genitals. Since the groin area is adjacent to the reproductive and urinary systems, adults with hernias are at risk of sexual dysfunction and infertility.

Harm three: Hernia will cause the patient psychological pain and torture. The inconvenience caused to the patient's work and life, and the complaints and misunderstandings from others will increase the psychological pressure, easily causing depression and inferiority in the patient, and leading to distorted and split personality.

From the above we know a lot about the causes and hazards of small intestinal hernia in children. If a child really has symptoms of intestinal hernia, adults must not panic too much. A child's intelligence and body cannot protect themselves. Parents are the children's guardian angels, and the parents' strength is the best barrier for the children to resist the disease. Parents must diagnose the disease in time according to the specific symptoms of childhood hernia, provide temporary care for the child, and then send the child to a regular hospital, follow the doctor's advice, and fight childhood hernia together with the child. I hope all the children are in good health.
