Causes of melanin deposition in children

Causes of melanin deposition in children

The melanin deposition on the surface of human skin is closely related to the ultraviolet rays in the sun, so the older people are, the greater the chance of melanin deposition. However, some parents have found birthmarks and spots on the body surface of their newborn babies caused by melanin deposition. In fact, parents don’t have to worry too much at this time. Let’s understand the reasons that affect the deposition of melanin on the baby’s skin.

1. Many parents occasionally find a birthmark on the head or face of their newborn baby, but it is very rare to have birthmarks on the limbs. Now there are very few. In fact, when the baby is in the womb, the accumulation of pigment cells in the body is different in shape, size and color. It is worth mentioning that birthmarks generally do not have any adverse effects. As children grow older, birthmarks on their bodies will basically disappear automatically, so there is no need for treatment.

2. Once the doctor determines that the birthmark needs treatment, the younger the child, the better. Children are not so sensitive to pain. When children are young, their skin can repair better than adults, and the psychological impact on children is relatively small. Nowadays, laser treatment of birthmarks is the most ideal treatment method. Birthmarks are usually treated by using laser energy to break up pigment particles and then vaporize them. The pigment particles are then absorbed by the body and excreted through the circulatory system, causing the pigment and vascular tumors to regress. Because lasers of a certain wavelength are only absorbed by birthmarks of the corresponding color, only after the diseased cells absorb the specific laser can the birthmark be truly cured, so there are very few ugly scars left.

3. Birthmarks can generally be divided into pigments and blood vessels. The more common pigments include Mongolian spots. Studies have found that maternal melanin spots, cafe au lait spots and pigmented nevi, and blood vessels include wine stains, strawberry hemangiomas and cavernous hemangiomas, which are all birthmarks with relatively high risk. It can generally be divided into two categories. One category will not cause harm to our body and may disappear as we age. The other has a great impact on our body.

Note:

Black birthmarks can cause certain harm to us, so patients are advised to seek timely treatment. The most common impact of black birthmarks is that they damage our appearance. The most serious damage is to the health of cancer patients. Patients with relatively large volume conflicts must pay attention to the fact that long-term conflicts can cause certain damage to black birthmarks. Once black birthmarks become cancerous, they are very difficult to treat.
