How to clear throat for children

Many parents find that their children clear their throats frequently. At this time, they will judge that the children must have pharyngitis. In fact, this problem needs to be fully recognized and understood. It does not mean that children clearing their throats is a manifestation of pharyngitis. Of course, this possibility cannot be ruled out. So let us understand the reasons why children often clear their throats, especially parents must help them prevent it.

Throat clearing is the main symptom of pharyngitis. In daily life, we often find that children also clear their throats frequently. Does children’s frequent throat clearing also mean pharyngitis? In fact, there are two situations in which children clear their throats. One is a manifestation of pharyngitis, and the other is Tourette syndrome.

Children are left with pharyngeal inflammation after a cold. Due to the increase in inflammatory secretions and proliferation of follicles on the posterior pharyngeal wall, the children feel like there is a foreign body in the throat and want to clear it out with force, resulting in a "hmm, hmm" throat clearing sound.

This type of pediatric pharyngitis patients will have sputum, but most of them still have dry cough. Examination revealed a red pharynx, swollen tonsils, and a large amount of granular connective tissue hyperplasia on the posterior pharyngeal wall. In the acute phase, there are also symptoms such as fever and sore throat. Antibacterial drugs and anti-cold drugs can alleviate the symptoms.

It should be noted that the clear throat sounds of some children, "heng, heng", have nothing to do with colds. That is to say, even if you do not have a cold, you will still clear your throat frequently, and the sound will be high-pitched and loud. If you listen carefully, it feels like the sound is deliberately amplified. At the same time, there will be abnormal movements such as squinting, frowning, and wrinkling the nose. These movements cannot be controlled for a long time, and the symptoms recur repeatedly and will not be cured for a long time. Examination showed no abnormalities in the pharynx and antibiotics were ineffective. At this time, Tourette syndrome in children should be considered, not pharyngitis.

Children are still young, so they may not understand their own physical health and abnormal conditions. Therefore, the key lies in the parents. As long as they help children find the cause of the disease and help them take the most scientific treatment method, they can reduce the impact of these problems on children.
