Weekly diet for five-month-old babies

Babies need more care from their parents, and nutrition is no exception. As babies grow up, they are also developing slowly. At this time, the nutrition they need can no longer be met by breast milk or formula. They need to take in enough nutrition to support their development and growth. Five-month-old babies can already eat some simpler foods, and balanced nutritional intake can help them grow more healthily. Here is a one-week diet plan for a five-month-old baby.

Five-month-old babies grow rapidly, their weight gradually increases, and their appetite also increases. Some babies can also add complementary foods, but of course they still need to be fed with breast milk as the main food.

The digestive system of a 5-month-old baby is not yet fully developed, and there is a certain contradiction between the nutritional needs and the imperfect digestive system. Therefore, it is necessary to master certain principles and precautions when adding complementary foods. These principles and precautions can help babies eat more reasonably, and can also help babies supplement the various nutrients needed for healthy growth through scientific food supplements.

What to do if your five-month-old baby has a dry cough

1. Honey

Honey is very effective in treating baby's cough, especially night cough. Honey has a long history of treating respiratory infections and inflammations. It can effectively kill respiratory bacteria, and honey can help babies sleep more soundly at night. However, babies under one year old cannot eat honey, otherwise it will cause botulism poisoning. Parents of babies under one year old need to pay special attention.

2. Vinegar

Boil the vinegar, let it cool, and then give your baby a small spoonful each time, several times a day. The therapeutic effect of vinegar is also very obvious. It can reduce inflammation, detoxify and reduce swelling. It is very effective for sore throat, dryness and itching. However, do not eat too much vinegar, otherwise it will harm the baby's spleen and stomach. Once the baby's cough symptoms are significantly alleviated, you can stop using it. If the baby does have symptoms of a cold, then letting the baby smell the boiled vinegar more often is also effective.

3. Radish and honey water

Radish can promote ventilation, clear away heat, cool blood and promote salivation. It is a good dietary ingredient when the baby has a cold. Using radish to reduce phlegm and relieve cough is also an ancient practice. The role of honey has been introduced above, so we can combine several ingredients for treating baby's cough to make a radish honey drink.

First, prepare some white radish, ginger, dates, and honey. Boil the water, add radish, ginger and jujube into the water, boil for about 30 minutes, filter out the residue, add honey after it is warm, drink it once or twice a day. It has a good therapeutic effect on wind-cold cough, but if the baby has wind-heat cough, then it is not suitable to drink it.

4. Lily Honey

Lily tastes bitter, but it can clear the heart and moisten the lungs, calm the mind and relieve coughs. Adding honey can further moisten the lungs and relieve coughs. If your baby has chronic bronchitis and frequent coughs, this soup is suitable, especially in the dry autumn and winter seasons. For babies, coughs in autumn and winter are more uncomfortable and may be accompanied by constipation. Therefore, appropriate use of lily honey in autumn and winter can effectively relieve these symptoms.

5. Water chestnut and lily soup

Although the name of this soup is water chestnut and lily soup, the ingredients are not just water chestnuts and lilies, you also need some rock sugar and a snow pear. Peel the water chestnuts, wash and core the pears, and clean the lilies. Add these three ingredients into water and cook until they are well-cooked. Then add an appropriate amount of rock sugar and cook until it becomes thick. When it is warm, you can give it to your baby.

We have already introduced the effects of lily before. Water chestnut is also a good ingredient for promoting fluid production and quenching thirst, cooling blood and removing blood stasis. In particular, it is rich in protein and various trace elements. Snow pear can moisturize and relieve cough, so this soup is very effective in nourishing yin, moistening dryness, resolving phlegm and relieving cough. However, it should be noted that babies with weak constitution and loose stools are not suitable to drink this folk remedy for treating baby's cough.

6. Sichuan Fritillary Pear

Remove the core of a snow pear or duck pear, add 6 grams of Fritillaria cirrhosa and some rock sugar. Put the ground Fritillaria cirrhosa into the belly of the snow pear, secure with toothpicks, put it in a large bowl, add a small amount of water and rock sugar, steam it, and finally eat the snow pear and Fritillaria cirrhosa together. Fritillaria cirrhosa is a common Chinese medicine for resolving phlegm and relieving cough. It also has the effect of nourishing yin and moistening the lungs. It is mild in nature and is more suitable for babies to eat.

7. Garlic water

Remove two or three cloves of garlic and smash them, add a little rock sugar and half a bowl of water, boil water, and steam the garlic water after the water boils for 15 minutes. Let it cool down and give it to the baby. Garlic is warm in nature and has a good effect on the baby's cold and cough.
