The child's nose is blocked when lying down

If you have a stuffy nose while sleeping, it is an uncomfortable phenomenon for everyone. Because only when breathing is unobstructed during sleep can people maintain a healthy sleeping state and good sleep quality. Because they are worried that their children may have any abnormal reactions when they sleep, parents will carefully observe their children's sleeping state. If they find that their children's nose is blocked when they lie down to sleep, what is going on?

There are several reasons why babies have stuffy noses:

1. Baby has a cold

A common nasal congestion is caused by a cold. In addition, acute sinusitis and some nasal inflammations can also cause nasal congestion in children. The symptoms of nasal congestion caused by colds and inflammation are different. Parents need to clarify the cause of their children's illness before treating them.

Mothers can use a moist and warm towel to apply hot compresses on the nose. When the nasal mucosa is exposed to heat and shrinks, the nasal cavity will be more unobstructed, and the sticky nasal mucus will easily hydrate and flow out.

2. Blockage by foreign matter

It is possible that there are too many secretions and blockages in the baby's nose, blocking the baby's nasal ventilation. If the obstruction or secretions in the nose can be seen directly, take a cotton swab for babies, dip it in water or moisten it with baby oil, and insert it into the nostril (no more than 2 cm) to remove the secretions. Be careful not to insert it too deep into the nasal cavity to avoid causing damage.

3. Allergies

Especially in spring when there is more pollen, your baby may have a stuffy nose due to allergies caused by pollen and other reasons.

When using heaters or electric heaters to keep warm in winter, pay attention to the problem of dry air. The baby's nose will feel uncomfortable and the room needs to be humidified. If the nasal mucus is dry and severely blocked, you can ask your doctor to use special small instruments to treat it. Do not treat it casually.

After reading the above introduction, have you understood why your baby's nose is blocked when he lies down? I hope these can be of some help to you, and you can do preventive work in your daily life to avoid harm.
