Post-circumcision care for children

Post-circumcision care for children

A neighbor's child is only five years old now, but he is very difficult to take care of. His mother and I are colleagues. Because the child was always crying, we took him to the hospital for a full-body check-up. The child usually did not feel uncomfortable, but he cried very hard when he urinated. Finally, his mother told me that her child had circumcision and had undergone surgery. I know that only boys can get this disease. I recently went to the hospital to see the child, and the child recovered very well. What are the aspects of care after children's circumcision surgery?

1Except for children who undergo general anesthesia and need a short period of hospitalization for observation for the sake of care and safety, other patients can still carry out their daily work without hospitalization. Adolescent and adult patients may experience swelling, pain and bleeding at the wound due to penile erection after surgery. If the bleeding is minor, local cold compress and pressure can stop the bleeding. If the bleeding is severe, the patient should return to the hospital for treatment immediately.

2 Children can soak the wound in clean warm water to help the stitches fall off. One month after the operation, patients can resume their sexual life without affecting their sexual function. Circumcision on children is the most commonly performed surgery in the reproductive plastic surgery diagnosis and treatment of the Urology Department of our hospital. It is also generally known as a "minor surgery", but it must be treated with caution.

3. After circumcision, the patient should rest in bed for 3 to 4 days and avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time. If the child is active, parents should do a good job of persuading him or her. Take anti-inflammatory medication as directed by your doctor. After surgery, the wound was fixed with absorbent gauze, which was removed after 3 days. The surgery generally uses short-term absorbable synthetic sutures, and there is no need to remove the sutures.

4. You can take a bath or shower one week after the circumcision surgery, which can accelerate the shedding of the scab on the surface of the glans. It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks to heal.

5. Wipe the wound with a clean towel instead of bathing, and do not let the wound come into contact with water within 5 to 7 days. How long does it take for the swelling to subside after a child's circumcision surgery? Babies wearing diapers will inevitably be stained with urine, which requires parents to change diapers for the baby frequently.

6. Generally speaking, the foreskin wound will heal in about 2 weeks. How long does it take for the swelling to subside after a child's circumcision surgery? After the surgery, parents should not let the baby wear tight or non-breathable clothes to avoid friction or inflammation of the glans.

7. Do not clean the scabs by yourself. I wish the child good health!

The above summary is about the care after children's circumcision surgery. I hope these points can help parents who have the same troubles and can better care for their children so that their children can recover sooner.
