What is the cause of cerebral palsy in children

Under current medical conditions, there are no obvious drugs or treatments for cerebral palsy in children. However, current medical conditions can make cerebral palsy in children less serious. This is also gratifying. If there is such a patient in a family, it will be very painful. I hope that a drug to treat cerebral palsy in children can be developed as soon as possible.

Although not many children suffer from cerebral palsy, one more person with this disease will bring pain to a family, or even two families. At present, what are the causes of cerebral palsy in children? Take a look at the introduction below.

It usually refers to central movement disorders caused by non-progressive brain damage or abnormal brain development due to various reasons before birth to one month after birth. Clinically, it is characterized by abnormal posture and muscle tone, muscle weakness, involuntary movements and ataxia, often accompanied by sensory, cognitive, communication, behavioral disorders and secondary skeletal and muscular abnormalities, and may cause epileptic seizures.

There are many causes of cerebral palsy, but the cause cannot be found in more than one-third of cases. Sometimes there may be multiple factors in some cases. Prenatal factors are the most common, including genetic and chromosomal diseases, congenital infections, brain malformations or maldevelopment, fetal brain ischemia and hypoxia leading to periventricular leukomalacia or basal ganglia damage, etc. Perinatal factors refer to brain damage that occurs from the beginning of delivery to one week after birth, including cerebral edema, neonatal shock, intracerebral hemorrhage, sepsis or central nervous system infection, ischemic-hypoxic encephalopathy, etc. Perinatal factors may be an important cause of cerebral palsy in premature infants. Late post-neonatal factors include non-progressive causes of brain injury, including central nervous system infection, cerebrovascular disease, head trauma, poisoning, etc., occurring between 1 week and 3 or 4 years of age.

We know that there are many causes of cerebral palsy in children, but the cause is still unknown for more than one-third of children with cerebral palsy, which brings great difficulties to the treatment of cerebral palsy in children. Now, what people need to do is to keep in mind the causes of cerebral palsy in children, which can reduce the chance of cerebral palsy in children.
