Why does my child always complain about foot pain?

Foot pain in children is a common problem for many children. If the pain is not caused by trauma, it may be considered as growing pains or calcium deficiency. Growing pains are caused by the rapid development of children's bones, which exceeds the growth rate of local muscles and tendons. The main manifestation is pain in the legs and feet, which is relieved after rest or sleep and normal activities. If it is caused by calcium deficiency, check the trace elements and then supplement calcium accordingly. In addition, tuberculous hip arthritis, suppurative arthritis, osteochondritis and other diseases can also cause foot pain. In this case, the movement is limited and the pain is aggravated. Therefore, parents should distinguish them and take their children to the hospital for examination and diagnosis as soon as possible.

Why does my child always complain of foot pain?

First, children exercise a lot during the day, which puts them in an anaerobic state. Over time, their muscles are prone to soreness and fatigue. However, their age is when they are lively and active. They don’t know what fatigue is and run desperately.

Second, children’s frequent foot pain may be caused by calcium deficiency. Children need a lot of calcium during their development. When the calcium in their nutrition cannot keep up with their needs, they will be calcium deficient, which will cause growing pains such as foot pain. Therefore, parents should supplement their children with calcium and let them get more sun exposure.

Third, as parents, we can check whether the child has flat feet, or the shoes on their feet are inappropriate, or the soles are too hard, or they jump too much. If it is not these reasons, we must take the child for examination.

If a child has foot pain, pay attention to a balanced diet and supplement with foods rich in vitamin D, calcium, phosphorus, and easily absorbed, such as milk, small fish and shrimp, cod liver oil and other nutritious foods. Get some sun exposure to increase calcium absorption, rest in time, avoid excessive exercise, and you can also massage your child to relieve pain. If it is caused by pathological factors, go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.
