Scar repair after burns in children

Scar repair after burns in children

When it comes to burns, many people are familiar with them. Among people who suffer from burns, burns in children are the most common phenomenon. After many children are scalded, parents are very worried that they will be left with scars. For babies with scar-prone constitution, timely treatment and subsequent care methods after burns are very important. In fact, if children are left with scars after burns, the scars can be faded through repair, and the scars will gradually fade as the baby grows.

How to quickly heal a baby's burn without leaving scars

1. Rinse quickly with cold water

After the baby is scalded, parents must remain calm and immediately rinse or soak the baby's scalded skin with cold water for at least 20 minutes. Cold water can relieve pain and reduce skin damage, but mothers should be careful not to apply ice cubes to the burned area, because ice cubes will cause the capillaries to contract, which is not conducive to heat dissipation.

2. Take off your baby’s clothes

If the baby is burned through the clothes, you should take off the baby's clothes quickly, but be careful to avoid the baby's face when taking off the clothes. If the baby's burns are serious, do not tear off the baby's clothes forcibly. You can use small scissors to cut off the baby's clothes to allow the baby's skin to better dissipate heat.

3. Emergency treatment is the most important

After wiping the wound that has been washed with water with a clean towel, you can apply a layer of burn ointment on the injured area to prevent the baby's wound from getting infected. If the injury is in the joints of the fingers or elbows, the mother should pay attention to helping the baby stretch to prevent shortening and deformation.

4. Seek medical attention promptly

If the baby's burn is only slightly red and there are no other serious conditions, parents can treat the child themselves. But if the burns are serious, parents can take the baby to the hospital for examination and treatment after doing the above.

Generally speaking, as long as parents treat the baby's wounds in time and give the baby meticulous care, the baby's skin will not be scarred by burns. If it is a serious wound, they must actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment to allow the baby's skin to heal as soon as possible.
