Five types of food that harm your baby's brain, parents should know

As we all know, foods such as milk, fish, carrots, and onions have the effect of improving brain function and intelligence, but there are also some foods that the brain does not like. Studies have shown that if you often eat the following five types of food, your brain will become slow to react, clumsy, and even have reduced memory:

1) Too salty food: The human body's physiological need for salt is extremely low. Less than 7 grams per day for adults and less than 4 grams per day for children are sufficient. Eating salty food frequently will damage the arteries, affect the blood supply to the brain tissue, and cause brain cells to be in a state of ischemia and hypoxia for a long time, thus leading to memory loss and premature brain aging.

2) Lead-containing foods: Lead can replace the active positions of other minerals such as iron, calcium and zinc in the nervous system, and is therefore a major "killer" of brain cells. Foods containing lead mainly include popcorn, preserved eggs, etc. It should be noted that the lead content of "lead-free preserved eggs" is not zero, but is lower than the corresponding national standard, and is also not suitable for consumption in large quantities.

3) Foods containing aluminum: The World Health Organization points out that the human body's daily aluminum intake should not exceed 60 mg. The alum in fried dough sticks is an inorganic substance containing aluminum. If you eat 50-100 grams of fried dough sticks a day, you will exceed this amount.

4) Foods containing lipid peroxides: Fried foods with oil temperatures above 200°C and foods exposed to the sun for a long time, such as smoked fish, roast duck, roast goose, etc., contain more lipid peroxides, which will accumulate in the body, causing damage to certain metabolic enzyme systems and promoting premature brain aging or dementia.

5) Foods containing high levels of saccharin and MSG: Excessive intake of saccharin can damage brain cell tissue; MSG is safe to consume in small amounts, but infants under one year old and pregnant women in late pregnancy should not eat it. If babies consume MSG, it may cause brain cell necrosis; if pregnant women consume it, it will cause zinc deficiency in the fetus and affect the child's intellectual development.
