Baby tosses and turns when sleeping at night

It is common for babies to toss and turn during sleep at night, but if it happens frequently

It will greatly affect the baby's sleep. There are many reasons that affect the baby's sleep, including uncomfortable bedding, noises in the room, or physical discomfort, etc., but most babies cannot describe what is wrong by themselves. Parents can only rely on careful observation to make the baby sleep peacefully and sweetly.

If the baby is feeling unwell, parents should consider the reason. Is the baby not full, is he cold or hot while sleeping, is he frightened, or does he have a stomachache, etc. In addition, the baby may feel uncomfortable if his appetite decreases or he is not as lively and active as before. Let us learn about the reasons why babies toss and turn in their sleep at night. I hope it will be helpful to you and your baby.

There are two situations in which babies have restless sleep: one is physiological: this is an instinctive reaction, a way for babies to express their emotions and needs, which may be due to hunger, heat or cold, being frightened or disturbed by dreams, too much sleep during the day, etc. At this time, parents only need to make adjustments and comfort the baby according to the specific situation to calm the baby down and help the baby sleep well. There is also a pathological condition: it should be given enough attention. Any disease that causes pain, itching and other discomforts to the baby will make the baby sleep disturbed, such as fever, eczema, intestinal cramps, oral ulcers, pinworm infection, etc. In addition, babies who are calcium deficient usually suffer from sweating, bald spots on the back of the head, night terrors, irritability, etc. You can take your baby for trace element testing.

Parents should pay attention to the following before their baby goes to bed:

1. Keep your baby from having too much dinner. Drinking milk once will help him sleep better.

2. Appropriately reduce various stimulations to the body. Taking a hot bath and doing massage before going to bed is conducive to physical relaxation;

3. Don't dress your baby too much when sleeping, and keep the bedding at an appropriate temperature;

4. Parents should try their best to create a good sleeping environment for their baby. It is best to turn off the lights when the baby is sleeping to maintain a comfortable and quiet sleeping environment.

The baby's sleep is mainly light sleep. During this period, they open their eyes, suck, turn over, cry, and some even look up, but these movements are mostly meaningless, and there is no light even when they open their eyes. Generally, mothers do not need to intervene too much. They can observe the baby for a few minutes and then give gentle caress to help the baby continue to fall asleep. Do not pick up the baby to coax him to sleep or interrupt the baby's sleep by feeding. Generally, this situation will gradually improve as the baby grows older. In addition, a quiet and comfortable sleeping place should be arranged with appropriate room temperature, fresh air, appropriate thickness of bedding, and dim lighting; cultivate good sleeping habits, do not be too excited or do strenuous exercise before going to bed, and do not scold the child. Don't play with her at night. Let her fall asleep on her own after feeding her. Don't pay attention to her crying. It will naturally become a habit after a few days. It is recommended to supplement the baby with the required amount of cod liver oil and calcium supplements.

The baby's current lead level should be intervened in time, and the following points should be noted:

1. Eat more foods that have the effect of excreting lead, such as: enoki mushrooms, garlic, carrots, kelp, mung beans, milk, tea, etc.

2. Do not let children suck their fingers or put foreign objects in their mouths, and develop the habit of washing hands before meals;

3. Prevent words, pictures or trademarks on plastic bags from coming into direct contact with food, especially oily and acidic foods (such as fried dough sticks, hawthorn cakes, etc.);

4. Avoid using pottery or bowls with colorful patterns to hold food, especially acidic drinks;

5. Do not use paint to beautify the walls at home, and teach your children not to put painted toys or utensils into their mouths and chew them;

6. Do not bring children to play or stay for a long time near the road where cars are passing by;

7. Do not feed children foods with high lead content, such as preserved eggs. Providing adequate calcium, zinc, iron, vitamin C, vitamin B and protein in the diet can help reduce the load and harm of lead in the body.

If the baby does not sleep well, he will be lack of energy during the day. If the baby also has poor sleep due to some physical discomfort, it will make the baby even more sad. Therefore, parents must take good care of the baby and carefully observe the baby's daily changes to ensure the baby's healthy growth.
