What to do if your 40-day-old baby has a low-grade fever

Many babies are prone to high fever when they are young. When they are sick, they usually need to be hospitalized because ordinary doctors cannot cure the baby's condition. Therefore, only pediatric doctors can be selected. Especially for the situation where the baby has a low fever, it is likely that there are some potential diseases in the body that cannot be discovered. So what should I do if my 40-day-old baby has a low fever?

1Can I eat a watermelon if it's cracked in the middle?

It is ok to eat a watermelon even if it is cracked in the middle.

The reason why some watermelons have cracks in the middle is because watermelon is a plant of the Cucurbitaceae family. One characteristic of Cucurbitaceae plants is that they generally have three carpels (of course, the number may change under environmental influences), and these three carpels are not completely closed individually, but are united with each other. In this way, the ovules are located at the junction of the three carpels, which is the so-called "parietal placenta". Then, as the ovary develops, part of the watermelon peel and most of the placenta gradually swell up, producing juicy and loose cell tissue, which is the "watermelon pulp" we eat.

In the early stages of fruit development, cellulose is relatively developed and can play a role in supporting the shape of the fruit. When the fruit is ripe, the cellulose in the watermelon is degraded under the action of cellulase, and some cells even break away from the cellulose network and become scattered cells. This is why ripe watermelon has a "sandy" taste. At this time, the cellulose between the placentas is degraded and the abdominal sutures begin to separate, forming a visible gap.

2 Tips for choosing watermelon

1. Look at the bottom of the melon. The smaller the circle and the more protruding the melon bottom is, the more it is a sweet melon. On the contrary, if the circle at the bottom of the melon is large and concave, the melon is not sweet.

2. Look at the stem of the melon. If it is fresh and curved, it means it is freshly picked. On the contrary, if the stem of the melon is dry, it means that the melon has been picked for a long time and is no longer fresh.

3. A good melon has clear lines and a shiny and smooth skin. There will be some yellow skin on one side of the melon. This part is where the melon sits on the ground and is not exposed to the sun. The less yellow this part is, the better.

4. Listen to the sound. Hold the watermelon in one hand and pat it with the other hand. If you hear a "dong dong" sound, like patting a belly full of water, a somewhat hollow sound, then it is a good, sweet and juicy watermelon. If you hear a "pop" sound, like slapping your forehead, then the melon is not ripe.

3 How to identify "toxic" watermelon

1. The yellow-green stripes on the melon skin are uneven. After cutting, the flesh is particularly bright, but the seeds are white and do not taste sweet.

2. The watermelons treated with growth enhancers are large, generally weighing 6 to 10 kilograms. It is normal for a watermelon to weigh around 4 kilograms.

3. Watermelons that have been treated with hormones are prone to crooked and deformed fruits due to uneven spraying and absorption of pesticides, such as asymmetry at the two ends, depression in the middle, swelling at the head and tail, etc., and color spots or large color differences on the surface. Do not buy such crooked and deformed fruits. The shape of a normal watermelon should be spherical or oval, with a flat and smooth surface.

4. When people eat watermelon, if they find that it tastes bad, especially when their tongue feels numb, they should stop eating it immediately and not take any chances.
