What are the main symptoms of pinworm disease in infants? Because infants are young and do not know how to pay attention to food hygiene, they are prone to eating contaminated food or playing with unclean toys, leading to pinworm disease. Babies with circumcision may experience itching around the anus or perineum, especially at night, which can cause the child to have trouble sleeping, and the baby may also have loss of appetite and cry uncontrollably. Therefore, mothers must be careful to distinguish.

Symptoms of pinworm infection in babies

Many babies will be infected with pinworms due to diet and hygiene problems. The symptoms of baby pinworms are actually very obvious. If your baby has the following symptoms, parents should pay attention, your baby is likely to have pinworm disease.

1. Itching around the anus or perineum, especially at night, causing restless sleep;

2. Mental restlessness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort;

If the nasty pinworms crawl into a girl's vulva, urethra, or vagina, they can cause urethritis and vaginitis; if they drill into the appendix, they can cause appendicitis.

How to treat baby pinworm disease

The life span of pinworms is only 20-30 days, and they can actually heal themselves without treatment. However, due to repeated infections and mutual contagion, the disease cannot be eradicated completely. If you want to cure your baby's pinworm disease, what should parents do?

Whenever the anus is itchy, the sleeping baby will scratch the anus with his little hands involuntarily. The worm eggs on the hands and in the nails can easily infect the baby again, so it is best to put a clean pair of gloves on the child at night and take them off in the morning.

At the same time, the child’s bed sheets and pants will also be contaminated with insect eggs, and any items and toys placed on the bed sheets will naturally be contaminated with insect eggs. So when a child is infected with pinworms, mothers should wash and iron the baby's pants and sheets together every day. If they persist for several days, the pinworms can be eliminated.

In addition, if you want to completely eliminate pinworms, you should help your baby clean his or her butt carefully every night, apply pinworm ointment on the anus and around it after washing, and take anthelmintic drugs according to the doctor's instructions.
