How to deal with mites bites

How to deal with mites bites

Mites are everywhere in people's lives. Mites are very small parasites that people cannot see with the naked eye, but mites may exist in bedding, clothes, sofas, etc. that people use in their daily lives. Some people's faces are covered with acne, which is also caused by a large number of mites. Mites may bite people, so what should we do after being bitten by mites?

What should I do if my baby is bitten by mites?

After being bitten by mites, you should avoid scratching frequently to avoid skin damage and infection. If you want to relieve itching and swelling for your baby, you can use cold compress to reduce swelling. Put a wet towel in the refrigerator to freeze (or you can directly wrap ice cubes in a towel), and place it on the bitten area of the baby for continuous cold compress (once every 2 to 3 hours), which will help reduce swelling. You can also apply various antipruritic agents externally, such as calamine lotion, Concord antipruritic solution, etc., but be careful when using ointments containing hormones. Such drugs are not recommended for long-term use for babies. Generally, 3 days is appropriate, and no more than one week.

Reminder: The more you apply the floral water, the more itchy it will become.

Mite dermatitis is an inflammatory reaction, and lotions such as floral water mostly contain ingredients such as mint and camphor. Not only can they not improve the local inflammation of the baby's skin, but they will cause allergic reactions. Do not apply the medicine on your own. It is best to receive treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

How to avoid mite bites

In order to let the baby spend the summer safely, parents should take precautions before the summer comes, such as keeping the indoor and surrounding environment dry and ventilated, often exposing the baby's bedding to strong sunlight, and frequently vacuuming. During the season when mites are "committing crimes", you should roll up straw mats, pillow mats, sofa mats and other straw and bamboo products and knock them upright on the ground every day. This will remove many mites hidden in the cracks. If you encounter humid weather, you can use the air conditioner to dehumidify even if the temperature is not high.

Bathe your baby frequently and change his clothes frequently. Baby's clothes, especially underwear, should be exposed to the sun after washing. If it rains or is cloudy, the underwear should be soaked in boiling water and then dried.

Mites love moisture the most. Except when you are drying the quilt, try not to fold it at other times. Really, don't fold it. Wake up the same way you slept, and don’t fold the quilt. In this way, the mites will suffocate or starve to death without fresh air, moisture, etc.

Dry quilts frequently, especially straw mats that are prone to breeding mites. They should be exposed to the sun frequently. After drying, be sure to beat the straw mats hard on the ground to reduce the mites hidden in them.

You can put camphor blocks under mattresses or straw mats to repel mites. When storing straw mats after summer, you can also put mothballs or camphor blocks in to inhibit the growth and reproduction of mites.

When summer comes, it is best to put away the carpets. If the family can only use carpets, it is advisable to clean the carpets regularly (at least before summer every year) with a special carpet detergent. Vacuum the carpet every day and spray insecticide on the carpet every once in a while. Open the windows for ventilation after spraying and do not stay indoors. Only let the baby play on the carpet after there is no odor in the room or on the carpet.
