One year old baby has fever and shivers while sleeping

If a one-year-old baby has a fever, the body will often feel cold and may shiver while sleeping. In this case, you should monitor the body temperature in time. If the baby's temperature is below 38.5 degrees, do not rush to use antipyretics. You can use some physical methods to reduce the temperature. When it exceeds 38.5 degrees, you must use some antipyretics in time and go to the hospital for regular examination in time.

One year old baby has fever and shivers while sleeping

1. For adults, body temperature usually reflects the severity of the disease. But this is not the case for children because their bodies' temperature control is not yet perfect. Some children have a fever of up to 40°C when they are infected with mild diseases, but only 38.3°C when they are infected with more serious diseases.

2. When a child has a fever, parents should observe his complexion, expression and actions. A child with a temperature of 100.5°C but a pale, unnaturally quiet complexion may be sicker than a child with a temperature of 100.5°C but still running around the house making a fuss.

3. When a child has a fever, his body will be more tired, so it is normal for him to always want to sleep. Parents don’t need to worry too much.

How to care for your baby when he has a fever

1. If your baby shows symptoms of wanting to sleep, you should reduce his fever appropriately and let him drink more water. This can relieve blood vessel fatigue and reduce the fever.

2. Maintain good air circulation in your home. If your home has air conditioning, maintain the room temperature between 25-27℃. You can place the child in an air-conditioned room or blow an electric fan around him to slowly lower his body temperature, which will make the child feel more comfortable. But if the limbs are cold and the patient is shivering violently, it means that the patient needs warmth, so he should be covered with a blanket.

3. Warm water bath: Undress the baby and rub the whole body with a warm water (37℃) towel. This will dilate the blood vessels in the baby's skin and release body qi. In addition, when water vapor evaporates from the body surface, it will also absorb body heat.

Parents should not be too nervous after their baby has a fever. Just pay attention to the child's condition at all times, use physical methods to cool the baby down, and let the baby rest more at home, and the baby can recover as soon as possible. If the condition is serious, parents should take their baby to see a doctor in time to avoid worsening of the condition and causing more serious complications.
