What size baby is the cross pacifier suitable for?

If you know about pacifiers, you are probably a parent with babies at home. In fact, if we go to the baby market to buy pacifiers, we will see different types of pacifiers. Among them, the two most common types are the cross-shaped pacifier and the Y-shaped pacifier. In fact, different types of pacifiers are suitable for babies of different ages. So, what age of baby is the cross pacifier suitable for?

Nipple models can be divided into 5 types according to the shape and size of the nipple hole, namely small round hole (S), medium round hole (M), large round hole (L); Y-shaped hole; cross-shaped hole. Pacifiers with different hole shapes have different functions and should be purchased according to your baby's actual age. NewCare will explain them one by one for you here.

Among the five types of pacifiers, the round hole type is the standard pacifier and is widely used.

1. Small round hole: The milk from the small round hole nipple can flow out automatically at a slow rate. It is suitable for newborn babies aged 0-3 months who cannot control the amount of milk they suck.

2. Medium size with round hole: The flow rate of size S nipple is slow and can no longer meet the milk sucking requirements of babies after 3 months old. At this time, you should change to a size M pacifier suitable for babies aged 3-6 months.

3. Large round hole: Large-sized nipples have large holes and allow milk to flow faster. Babies over 6 months old can control the amount of milk they suck and are not prone to choking. They can use an L-sized pacifier.

4. Cross-shaped hole: The nipple can be opened and closed according to the baby's sucking strength, and the feeding flow rate can be adjusted; it is suitable for drinking coarse particle drinks such as juice and rice noodles; it can also be used for feeding.

5. Y-shaped hole: The milk flow is relatively stable and can be used to suck nutritious rice cereal or milk. It is suitable for babies who can control the amount of milk they suck and play while drinking.

Smart mothers, you should choose a suitable pacifier based on your baby's actual situation. In addition to considering the model of the pacifier, you should also consider factors such as the material, design function, etc. If you have any questions about parenting, you can log on to the NewCare Parenting website or call the NewCare Parenting hotline.
