Why do children love to bite people?

Around us, there are always cases where children play together and one child bites another, leading to a war between the two families. Why do children like to bite people? In fact, this situation is not uncommon. Parents should also pay attention to their children's behavior and be prepared to educate their children. They should correctly guide their children on what they can and cannot do, so that they can realize right from wrong and make effective corrections.

(1) Itchy teeth: During the teething period, the gums and mucous membranes will be irritated and the teeth will itch. Children have a strong desire to bite things but cannot get their desire satisfied, so they start biting people. This is a physiological phenomenon and parents don't need to be too nervous. At this time, parents can use teething sticks to alleviate the special needs of their children during this special period. At the same time, you should give your child more fresh vegetables and fruits that are rich in fiber, such as cabbage, spinach, apples, pears, etc. Cut these vegetables and fruits into shreds or fine grains to give your child more opportunities to chew.

(2) A special way of expressing emotions: For babies aged 1 to 2 years old, due to their relatively poor language skills, they cannot use words to express their feelings about life, so they often like to express their emotions, including happiness and liking someone, by biting people. At this stage, we should educate children to express their emotions in other ways, teach them to speak more, and learn to express themselves with words instead of biting.

(3) Curious imitation: Sometimes babies bite as a form of imitative behavior, which they learn by observing the behavior of others. Babies are very curious. When they see other children biting others, they will think it is a very novel thing, so they will try to bite others. Since babies have no concept of right and wrong, they will not realize that they have done something wrong. At this time, parents should clearly tell the baby: biting is not a good behavior, mom and dad don’t like it, don’t do it again in the future, and emphasize this repeatedly in a timely manner.

(4) Venting out unhappy emotions: Some children are overbearing and willful. When they feel dissatisfied or their demands are not met, they vent their emotions by biting others. At this time, parents should immediately educate their children seriously, letting them know that biting is a wrong behavior, biting will hurt others and cause pain to others. At the same time, take him to apologize to the child who was bitten, creating an intuitive atmosphere for him to understand the consequences of biting. If such behavior occurs repeatedly, the child should be taken to the hospital for treatment. Certain diseases may also cause children's aggressive behavior, such as lead poisoning, so avoid children developing bad behavioral habits.
