Boy's brain grows in his neck

In our daily life, we would be surprised when we hear about some problems without having seen them before, such as the brain growing in the neck. This kind of disease does exist. There is such a boy in the UK who has this rare disease. Although it will not affect the life span for the time being because the brain grows in the neck, it will make the patient feel very uncomfortable. What is going on with this situation?

It is reported that a 9-year-old boy named Kai Diawne from the UK suffers from a rare disease, which causes a growth inside his neck. Initially, doctors refused to operate on him. But in 2014, his condition began to deteriorate. Finally, after nine major operations, the little boy can finally live a normal life.

Normally, the human brain is located in the head. But Kai's brain is on his neck. It is understood that he was diagnosed with cerebellar tonsillar malformation at the age of 4, a disease in which the brain is located low and even squeezed into the spinal cord. Although he looks similar to other children of his age, there are some differences inside.

At first, Kai led a normal life. But from 2014, his condition began to worsen. After a series of examinations, the doctor finally decided to perform surgery. Kai underwent nine major operations and his brain was finally moved back to its normal position.

Now, Kai can go back to school and become a lively little boy. Judging from the current situation, his operation was undoubtedly very successful. I hope his illness won't recur again.

You can imagine how complicated and dangerous this operation is to move the brain from the neck back to the head. Fortunately, the development of modern medicine can cure Kai's strange disease. This would have been impossible in the past.
