What to do if your baby is bitten by a child

What to do if your baby is bitten by a child

When many babies fall or get hurt, their parents will pay special attention and even be particularly worried. Some babies may be bitten or scratched by other children accidentally when playing with other children. At this time, the wound should be cleaned first, and the possibility of bone injury should be ruled out. Parents should not be too anxious when dealing with it, but should stay calm and comfort the baby's emotions.

Mom needs to master some first aid methods first.

After a child falls, first identify whether there is a fracture:

1. If the baby falls severely, there will be obvious signs of fracture;

2. Severe pain and limited movement of the affected limb;

3. The tenderness in the affected area is extremely obvious;

4. Swelling and skin discoloration in the affected area;

5. Limb deformation occurs in case of joint dislocation and severe fracture.

Corresponding countermeasures:

If limb movements cannot be free or are obviously restricted, or if there is obvious swelling or deformity at the injured part, you should go to the hospital immediately. Avoid moving the fractured bone while you're on the way to the hospital. If the fracture is in the limbs, you should find a piece of wood to fix the two ends of the fracture on the board; if the fracture is in the waist, chest, back, or ribs, you should find a stretcher and put a piece of wood on the stretcher, or directly use the board to carry the child to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible. Avoid carrying or holding the injured child when moving, otherwise the fractured part may cause damage to the nerves and blood vessels, aggravating the condition or even endangering life.

For bleeding from fractures, pressure can be used to stop bleeding or rubber bands or rubber bands can be used to circumscribe the limbs to stop bleeding before going to the hospital. Relax every 30 minutes or so to avoid affecting blood circulation and causing limb ischemia and necrosis.

Treatment of trauma after falls in children

Baby abrasions are most common on the elbows, palms and knees, and usually manifest as bleeding and skin damage.

Corresponding countermeasures:

1. If the abrasion is shallow, the wound surface is relatively clean and the range is small, in order to make the wound scab, just apply some iodine to the skin around the wound, and then bandage it with clean sterilized gauze;

2. If there is dirt or dust on the wound, rinse it with saline or cold water, then apply some iodine, some antibacterial ointment, and apply gauze bandage. If there is no local redness, swelling, pain or other inflammation within 2-3 days, the scab will form and the wound will heal.

3. If the abrasion area is too large, the wound is stained with sand or dirt that cannot be washed off by yourself, or the injured area is important (such as the face), it is recommended that parents take their children to the surgery department for local debridement and tetanus injection in time.
