5-year-old child with strabismus

5-year-old child with strabismus

Many people have strabismus since childhood, and some people have strabismus because they often play with their mobile phones while lying down after growing up. No matter which one it is, it may cause disease to our eyes. Moreover, strabismus greatly affects the appearance when looking at people, and it does not leave a good first impression on people. Children's strabismus should be corrected from an early age. So what should be done for a five-year-old child with strabismus?

If you have strabismus, you can use some surgical treatment to achieve the desired effect and get better. Check and treat the symptoms accordingly.

The treatment effect can be achieved and the condition will improve, so just perform eye surgery according to the symptoms, and then adjust the condition after examination to achieve the treatment effect.

Strabismus occurs when both eyes cannot focus on the target at the same time. It is an extraocular muscle disease and can be divided into two categories: concomitant strabismus and paralytic strabismus. The main clinical features of concomitant strabismus are eye deviation to the temporal side, no eye movement disorder, and no diplopia; while paralytic strabismus has restricted eye movement, diplopia, and is accompanied by systemic symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and unstable gait.

For congenital esotropia discovered within 6 months of birth, surgery should be performed at 1 to 2 years old, before binocular single vision function develops. If esotropia occurs after 6 months, you must not undergo surgery immediately. You must first dilate your pupil and have your eyes tested. If you have hyperopia, wear adequate corrective glasses for 3 to 6 months. If the esotropia is completely corrected, surgery is not necessary

Take your child to a regular eye hospital for examination in time. After finding the cause of the disease, treatment should be targeted at the cause. The earlier the disease is discovered and the earlier the treatment is intervened, the better the recovery effect will be.
