37-month-old baby development indicators

37-month-old baby development indicators

Generally speaking, the development standards of babies at 37 months are more critical, because this is the golden period for the development of baby's weight and height. In this case, parents must pay attention to supplement their babies with adequate nutrients, so the diet of mothers also needs to keep up, so that the baby can absorb more calcium and vitamins, so that their height development can be better than ordinary people.

1. Weight

Weight gain is one of the important indicators of bone development. Although there is a temporary physiological weight loss in the neonatal period, it will return to the birth level within 1 week to 10 days after birth. After that, the weight increased rapidly at a rate of 30 grams per day. Babies eat a lot of milk in the first 2 to 3 months after birth, so their weight gains quickly. If the daily growth rate is less than 20 grams, a careful physical examination should be conducted after the full month to analyze whether the breast milk is insufficient.

2. Height

A baby is about 50 cm long when it is born. Since the baby's height grows rapidly in the first 3 months, the length can increase by 5 to 6 cm when it is one month old. When the baby is 2 months old, its height will increase by about 10 cm compared to when it was just born. But usually, the increase in height is slower than the increase in weight, so the baby looks fatter.

3. Head and chest circumference

The size of the head can be measured by head circumference. The size of the head circumference reflects the development of the brain and skull. When a baby is just born, the average head circumference is 34 cm; within six months after birth, the head develops rapidly, and the head circumference can increase by 8 to 10 cm; when the baby is one year old, the head circumference can increase by 11 to 12 cm. If the head is too big or too small, ask a doctor to check if there is any disease.

Chest circumference reflects the growth and development of the baby's chest. At birth, a baby's chest circumference is generally 1 to 2 centimeters smaller than its head circumference. By the time the baby is one and a half to two years old, the chest circumference is almost equal to the head circumference.

4. Vision and hearing

As time goes by, the child can gradually see moving objects and the smiling faces of adults. If you slowly bring your hand close to his eyes, he will blink. This is proof that the child can see some objects. This phenomenon is called "blink reflex." Generally, children at this stage have the initial ability to distinguish sounds.

Generally, the first voice that can be clearly distinguished is the mother's voice. If a child hears his mother's voice while crying, he will stop; if his mother's voice stops, he will start crying again. Some children will stop crying and listen quietly when they hear music. When a 2-month-old baby hears a sound, he will turn his head towards the direction of the sound. If he suddenly hears a loud noise, his whole body will react, he will appear afraid, and even cry.
