What to do if your child has herpes

Many children are prone to herpes when they are young, because their immunity is relatively weak when they are young, so they are particularly prone to some skin diseases. Moreover, most skin diseases are contagious to children, which will make children feel that the affected area is particularly itchy and may leave some scars. So what should children do if they have herpes?

What is herpes simplex?

Herpes simplex is an acute herpetic skin disease caused by the herpes simplex virus. The most common clinical case is localized herpes simplex. The local area begins to feel burning, itching and tension, followed by the appearance of erythema. Clusters of small blisters appear on the erythema or normal skin. The blister fluid is clear and transparent, and later becomes turbid. After being abraded, erosion, exudation and scabs appear, and secondary suppurative infection may also occur. The disease can heal itself within 1 to 2 weeks. Temporary pigmentation spots may remain after healing. The rash often occurs at the junction of the skin and mucous membranes, such as the lips, around the mouth, and near the nostrils.

How to treat herpes in children?

Because children have low body resistance and weak defense function, viruses and bacteria often invade the body, causing some symptoms. The treatment is mainly based on antibiotics, and antiviral oral liquid or Isatis root granules can be taken; in addition, multiple vitamins such as vitamin C and vitamin B complex can be taken, and local chloramphenicol glycerin or shuanghuanglian aerosol spray can be used.

The possibility of recurrence of the disease cannot be ruled out. Children's recurrent attacks are related to some habits in daily life, and they should try to avoid foods and activities that are known to cause ulcer attacks. Relapse is more likely when the body's immunity is low. In daily life, you can pay attention to a proper diet, proper sleep, increased exercise, increased immunity, and give children more vitamin C supplements, because vitamin C itself can prevent these diseases.

However, since the child's physical functions are not yet fully developed, it is best for the child's parents to treat the child with traditional Chinese medicine, because traditional Chinese medicine has fewer side effects than Western medicine.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that herpes is mostly caused by insufficient vital energy, internal accumulation of dampness and heat, which block the skin, resulting in qi stagnation and blood stasis, and meridian dysfunction, which then manifests itself through the liver and gallbladder meridians.

Therefore, children can take oral antiviral medicines, isatis root granules, etc., decoctions often use honeysuckle, forsythia, isatis root, mint, gypsum, bamboo leaves, raw rehmannia, etc. Effective ready-made medicines can include compound isatis leaf mixture, pediatric bezoar powder, etc., and direct spraying of double-grain throat powder is also effective. The powdered powder can directly act on the local lesion to directly achieve the purpose of anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

To sum up, parents don’t need to be too nervous if their children have herpes. As long as it is treated correctly and handled appropriately, a full recovery is possible.
