Children's skin itches when sleeping at night

Children's skin itches when sleeping at night

When children go to bed at night, they often have trouble falling asleep, and may even cry because of itchy skin. This is because people's bodies generally get hotter at night, and the need to cover themselves with something can cause itchy skin and lead to some bad phenomena. It is necessary to find the cause and give appropriate treatment.

Avoid scratching the affected area

When our skin becomes itchy and bumps appear, our normal reaction is to scratch it with our hands, but the more we scratch, the more itchy it becomes, making the itching more severe. Therefore, remember not to scratch when your skin itches.

If you use too much force, it may cause dermatitis, pigmentation, and lichenification of the skin. This makes treatment more difficult. So when your skin itches, never scratch the affected area.

Apply anti-itch medication

Apply some moisturizer to the dry and itchy areas.

If it is very itchy and bumps appear, you can apply appropriate medication to the affected area. These medications have antipruritic effects and can relieve the itching symptoms and gradually return the skin to normal.

Taking oral medications

In terms of oral medication, patients can take cod liver oil three times a day, one pill each time.

Taking multiple vitamins orally, such as Centrum tablets and calcium tablets, also has a good effect on treating skin itching.

Taking sedatives before bed

You can take a sedative antihistamine 30 minutes before going to bed at night.

Local cold compress

When your skin is itchy and pimples appear, you can also soak a towel in cold water and then apply local cold compress, which can also effectively relieve the itching.

Keep clean and hygienic

Bathe regularly, but avoid using water that is too hot. Change your underwear frequently to maintain hygiene and keep your skin clean.
