What can children eat to cure runny nose quickly?

It is well known that children have relatively poor immunity. Every winter, parents like to wrap their children tightly so that they will not be infected by the cold. But in fact, dressing children too much can make them susceptible to the cold. Fever, cold, runny nose, nausea and headache are very common problems for children. Faced with such problems, let us first understand what children can eat to get better with a runny nose quickly?

If a child has a cold but only a runny nose without a fever, the following medicines can be used:

1. Pseudoephedrine methoxazole drops for children: suitable for the symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion, runny nose, cough and other symptoms caused by colds in infants and young children. It is specially formulated for colds in infants and young children without fever symptoms, and is equipped with a special dropper to accurately control the dosage.

2. Children's cold granules: a traditional Chinese medicine preparation, mainly used to treat children's common cold, upper respiratory tract infection, tonsillitis, etc.

3. Paracetamol and Amantadine Granules for Children (New Quick-Acting Cold Granules for Children): It is a compound preparation of Western medicine, which has the effects of antipyretic and analgesic, eliminating symptoms of nasal congestion, runny nose and sneezing, and has the effect of resisting cold viruses, treating both the symptoms and the root cause, and eliminating cold symptoms.

How to deal with a runny nose in a child

1. Hot compress: Use a hot and wet towel to apply hot compress on the baby's nose. As the nasal mucosa shrinks when exposed to heat, the nasal cavity becomes more unobstructed and the sticky mucus becomes easier to hydrate and flow out. Be gentle when applying hot compress. If you find mucus in your baby's nostrils, you can first clean it with a cotton swab dipped in water; you can also slowly massage the baby's nose or both sides of the nose.

2. Facial steamer: Point the facial steamer at the baby’s face to allow him to be exposed to moisture and heat. Steam can moisten your baby's nasal cavity and drain a lot of mucus quickly and naturally. When using the facial steamer, do not place it too close to the baby to avoid hurting his delicate skin; and the time of use at one time should not be too long, about 3 minutes is enough.

3. Increase the indoor temperature: Since infants and young children are particularly sensitive to external environment and air stimulation, they are prone to runny nose in seasons or rooms with a sudden drop in temperature. When parents find that the room temperature is low, they can increase the room temperature to relieve the baby's nasal congestion and runny nose symptoms.

4. Nasal aspirator: When the baby's nose has a lot of secretions and a heavy nasal sound, the mother can use a nasal aspirator. When using it, be careful to press the other nostril at the same time when aspirating one nostril, the effect will be better. In addition, the nasal aspirator can absorb a large amount of nasal mucus and secretions at one time. Before use, it is recommended that parents check whether there is any nasal mucus in the baby's nasal cavity. Keep the action gentle to avoid going too deep into the baby's nasal cavity to cause pain or injury. Clean it thoroughly after use.
