Tips for avoiding milk for babies

Tips for avoiding milk for babies

Many mothers choose to breastfeed. But due to work reasons. Babies need to be weaned after three or four months or a year. When babies first choose to wean, they will definitely not be able to adapt and may even cry incessantly. Mothers will think of all kinds of solutions. Although this process is difficult, certain measures and tips need to be taken for the healthy development and happy growth of the baby.

1. Preparation before weaning

Be sure to add complementary foods to your baby before weaning. Preparation before weaning should start with practicing eating with a spoon. Try to feed your baby some juice, soup, etc. with a spoon for a week. If the baby's cheeks and tongue cause the jaw to move and the baby can eat smoothly, you can gradually wean the baby. When weaning according to a weaning diet, do not force-feed your baby if he or she is unwilling to eat. Let your baby try and get used to eating other foods. After weaning, the baby's diet should be based on the principle of crushed, soft and rotten food. Feed the baby with nutritious, soft and easily digestible food. Avoid giving the baby spicy food. Milk is a daily necessity for babies.

2. “Breastfeeding strike” does not mean “self-weaning”

Babies under one year old may suddenly refuse breast milk without any obvious reason. This is often called "breast milk strike", while babies who "self-wean" are all over one year old. Mothers should learn to distinguish whether their children are on breastfeeding strike or are ready to wean themselves, and should not make the decision to wean lightly. In fact, the phenomenon of babies "strike milk" generally occurs after 4 months. At this time, the baby's growth rate slows down significantly and the demand for nutrients decreases accordingly. This instinctive reduction in the demand for milk is called the "physiological milk aversion period." It usually lasts for about a week. Later, as the amount of exercise increases and consumption increases, the appetite will gradually improve and the milk supply will return to normal.

"Generally speaking, babies who are truly ready for 'self-weaning' are over one year old and have already eaten a lot of solid food. If they are given more than 400 ml of formula milk per day, the nutrition is fully sufficient to meet the baby's needs, and they can be weaned without worry.

Psychology

3. Weaning should be done slowly and gradually. You can’t just stop the baby at will. Within one month before you are ready to wean your baby, the mother can gradually reduce the number of times she feeds the baby. For example, the baby was fed three times during the day before, but now is fed twice, with milk powder added once; after one or two days, it is fed only once during the day, with milk powder added twice; after a few more days, it is fed with milk powder all during the day, and fed by oneself at night; later, it is fed with milk powder both during the day and the meal before going to bed at night, and the meal in the middle of the night is fed by oneself; finally, it is fed with milk powder all the time, until the fruit is ripe and the baby is completely weaned.

"Mother-child separation" makes both mother and child prone to anxiety during weaning

4. "There is no need to separate mother and child for weaning." The traditional practice of "separating mother and child for easier weaning" is not advisable. It is very likely that not only will it fail to successfully wean, but it will also affect the baby's physical and mental health. Long-term separation of mother and child will also make the baby lack a sense of security, especially for babies who are highly dependent on breast milk. They may also develop strong anxiety, be unwilling to eat, be unwilling to interact with others, be irritable, cry violently, have poor sleep, and even become thin and sick.

Chili water and Tiger Balm are harmful to your baby's physical and mental health

5. For babies, applying irritants such as chili water, Tiger Balm or Coptis chinensis on nipples is simply cruel "torture". Coptis chinensis and chili water are both irritating foods that can harm the oral mucosa of babies. "Taking this kind of weaning method is undoubtedly a sudden blow to the baby, which will cause harm to the baby's tender body and mind."
