Why does the child not poop?

Why does the child not poop?

Constipation is a very common symptom in children. This symptom is mostly caused by imbalance of intestinal flora, abnormal intestinal function, weak spleen and stomach, and the formation of calcium soap due to the combination of palm oil and calcium in milk powder. Therefore, if parents want to completely relieve their baby's constipation symptoms, they need to take their children to the doctor, find out the cause of their children's constipation, and then take certain measures for reasonable treatment.

1. Imbalance of intestinal flora:

The nature of the stool is closely related to the composition of the food the baby consumes. If the food contains a lot of protein but insufficient carbohydrates, the intestinal flora will change secondary to the fermentation process of the intestinal contents, and the stool will tend to be alkaline and dry. If the food contains more carbohydrates, the intestinal fermentation bacteria will increase, the fermentation effect will increase, and more acid will be produced, so the stool will tend to be acidic, frequent and soft. This situation is mostly caused by parents not paying attention to their children's scientific diet, or the children being picky about food and having anorexia.

2. Abnormal intestinal function:

An irregular lifestyle or parents’ failure to cultivate correct bowel habits for their babies will lead to the failure to form a conditioned reflex of defecation, which will in turn cause constipation in babies. There are also some congenital intestinal diseases, such as congenital megacolon, anal fissure, anal stenosis and other diseases can also cause constipation in babies. One thing worth noting is that when the baby's constipation symptoms are mild, long-term use of enemas such as suppositories, or long-term holding of bowel movements due to inadequate care by teachers at school, can cause constipation due to intestinal wall muscle weakness and dysfunction. In addition, sympathetic nerve dysfunction, weak or paralyzed abdominal muscles can often cause constipation in babies.

3. Weak spleen and stomach:

This is the most common cause of baby constipation, and its main manifestations are food accumulation, anorexia, and getting angry. Usually parents will regard this kind of constipation as getting angry, and choose some heat-reducing food or medicine for their baby. However, parents who help their babies reduce internal heat will find that there are only two results of reducing internal heat to treat constipation: one is that the constipation remains, and the other is that the constipation is relieved for a period of time but recurs. This situation is because parents do not understand that although getting angry is the cause of baby's constipation, it is actually caused by the baby's spleen and stomach yin deficiency and qi deficiency. If the problem of weak spleen and stomach is not solved, baby's constipation will naturally recur.

4. Palm oil in formula milk combines with calcium to form calcium soap

Palm oil, which is often added to ordinary formula milk, is also a common cause of dry stools in mixed-fed and bottle-fed infants. During the intestinal digestion process, the ingredients in palm oil will combine with the calcium in the food to form hard calcium soap, leading to dry stools, constipation and even difficulty in defecation. Therefore, you should choose formula milk that does not contain palm oil, such as Abbott's Easy-to-Digest Formula, to avoid feeding triggers that may cause dry stools in your baby. In addition, this type of easily digestible formula also partially hydrolyzes the large molecular protein in the milk powder into mild small molecular protein, which is easy to digest and also helps to improve dry stool caused by poor digestion of milk protein.
