Reasons why babies always have fever

The baby's body is more delicate, especially its resistance is not good. Basically, any pathogen always invades the young body first. You must give your baby plenty of protection at ordinary times. If you accidentally get a fever or something, don't panic. First check whether you have caught a cold or something else, and then take your baby to see a doctor. If your baby always has a fever, you really need to pay attention, because it is normal to have a fever occasionally, but what should you do if your baby always has a fever? Let me tell you below.

Fever is an "alarm" that indicates that there is a problem with the body and that medical attention needs to be sought promptly. The baby's normal armpit temperature should be 36℃~37℃. As long as it exceeds 37.4℃, it is a fever.

There are usually two causes of fever in children, one is disease factors and the other is non-disease factors. As the name suggests, non-disease factors mainly refer to fever caused by external environmental influences, including high temperature, too many clothes, too little water, water loss (sweating), etc. These are more common in younger children.

However, the baby's body temperature often fluctuates due to certain factors. For example, in the evening, the baby's body temperature is often higher than in the early morning; the baby's body temperature will also rise temporarily after eating, crying, or exercising; if the baby's clothes are too thick, the room temperature is too high, etc., the baby's body temperature will also rise.

If your baby has this temporary, minor temperature fluctuation, it usually shouldn't be a problem as long as he's in good general condition, active, and has no other signs or symptoms.

When a baby has a fever, there are two main methods of cooling down commonly used clinically: physical cooling and drug cooling. No matter what method is used to help the baby cool down, it should be decided based on the baby's age, physical condition and degree of fever.

It is generally not advisable to use drugs to reduce fever in neonates; for fever caused by general infections in infants and young children, it is best to use appropriate physical cooling measures first. However, it is not advisable to use cold compresses and alcohol baths to cool down children with rash diseases such as measles, so as to avoid irritating the skin and affecting the outbreak of the rash.

If you use medication to reduce fever, be careful not to use too large a dose, so as to avoid causing the baby to sweat too much and cause collapse or electrolyte imbalance. There are many types of antipyretic drugs commonly used in pediatrics. No matter which antipyretic agent is used, it must be done under the guidance of a doctor.

Normal body temperature reference value

Normal temperature range of the part

Oral: 36.7℃~37.7℃

Axillary 36.0℃~37.4℃

Rectum 36.9℃~37.9℃

We have already told you what to do if your baby always has a fever. You should pay more attention to your baby's diet and living environment. After all, your baby's constant fever is not only due to physical reasons, but also due to the environment and living habits. Only by raising your baby stronger can he resist the occurrence of various diseases. Therefore, the most basic and urgent thing is not only to cure it once, but to solve the problem fundamentally, so that the baby can grow up healthily.
