There are two situations when babies drink milk: one is breast milk, and the other is milk powder. Because each mother's situation is different, it is up to her to decide whether the baby will eat breast milk or drink formula. Some mothers may find that their baby's body temperature rises after feeding, but this does not always happen, so mothers must be very confused. So will the baby's body temperature rise after feeding? It is better to measure the baby's temperature half an hour after drinking milk. Because eating can increase body temperature, a healthy child's body temperature may rise slightly after feeding or exercising, even to 37.8 ℃. Therefore, in order to avoid interference and misjudgment, you should try to avoid measuring your body temperature right after feeding or exercising. You should rest for 30 minutes after feeding or exercising before measuring your body temperature. 2 How to measure the baby's temperature more accurately 1. Body temperature can be measured under the armpit, in the mouth or rectum, etc. However, when measuring the baby, not only the measurement time should be fixed, but also the location should be fixed, because there are temperature differences between each part of the human body. For example, the surface temperature is lower than the temperature of the anus, mouth, and ear. Therefore, use the same thermometer each time to measure the same part. 2. For babies under 5 years old, try not to measure the temperature by mouth or rectum, because the baby is too small and the thermometer can easily be bitten and hurt when placed in the mouth, and the leaked mercury can cause great harm to the baby. However, rectal measurement is difficult to control the strength and depth, and is also relatively dangerous. 3 What is the normal body temperature of a baby? Every child’s basal body temperature is different, and generally fluctuates between 35.5°C and 37.5°C. The temperature closest to the core temperature should be the rectal temperature, and the normal value is 37.5±0.3℃. According to foreign research, rectal temperature, oral temperature and axillary temperature decrease by 0.5℃ respectively, and tympanic membrane temperature is basically the same as rectal temperature. This is why the measured temperature sometimes needs to be increased by 0.5℃. 4 How to choose a suitable thermometer 1. Glass mercury thermometer Glass mercury thermometer is the most accurate. But when reading the numbers, be sure to keep your eyes level to minimize reading errors. 2. Electronic thermometer Electronic thermometer is very convenient to use, the measurement time is shorter than that of glass mercury thermometer, and the reading is easy, but it needs to be calibrated frequently. 3. Infrared thermometer The infrared thermometer is very easy to operate and is very convenient to use when the child is crying and refuses to cooperate in taking the temperature. Since forehead temperature is greatly affected by the environment, the body temperature data measured by a forehead thermometer is not very accurate. |
